A traveling exhibit, co-presented by The National Japanese American Historical Society and The Presidio Trust. This exhibit includes a panel display with photographs, documents, rare objects, and a video installation by Gayle Yamaha, illustrating the story of the Japanese American soldier linguists, from their secret training at Presidio Building 640 one month before Pearl Harbor to the battlefields of the Pacific Theater and on to the Occupation of Japan. Also included will be “After the Wars”, photographer Tom Graves' unique collection of veterans' portraits and interviews. Sneak peek at the plans for the future MIS Historic Learning Center at Crissy Field, Presidio of San Francisco.
