Hi all -
I was contacted this week by a researcher looking for research sites
to study the effects of beavers on amphibians/fish/reptiles in California.

Criteria for study sites are relatively broad. They would like to
compare beaver effects at multiple spatial scales. For example,
comparing active beaver ponds vs inactive ponds vs other ponds/pools.
The ideal location would have some drainages with no beaver, and
nearby/similar drainages with beaver. Public land would be a bonus,
if it makes getting access easier.

If you have any ideas, let me know and I will forward them on (and/or
pass along your contact info).

- Eli

Eli:  If my memory holds, there used to be beaver ponds (occupied and not) around Sugarpine, CA.  That is below Fish Camp off Hwy 41. Thought at least part of that was USFS but I was a kid so that might not be correct. Had good fishing though.
Don't know if this helps or not.  Chuck
