Just Wondering
basically running a pyramid scheme and I would like to hear about any
experiences, positive or negative, you may have had. Apparently they
are a legit company running out of Italy. A friend of mine insists that
this thing works (and it seems to on paper) but I'm not so sure. If
anybody has been involved with this and actually made money please let
me know.

Yes I have heard of Pentagono. I have been playing the game for a few
months now and have made about $1000. However, I personally know people
who have made over $90,000 in less than a year, and have talked to
others who have made much more. We have weekly meetings to share fun,
ideas and success stories.
I personally think that it's the best thing since sliced bread: the
concept is brilliant, it is a win-win all around, it's untouchable by
the the government, it costs virtually nothing, it brings in money from
all over the world and it's fun!
It isn't a pyramid, and it is a full time business for the company
called Future Strategies in Italy and it has been designed to run
indefinitely like any other business. It's now operating successfully in
100 countries, so someone is doing something right!

If this is illegal, why has no-one ever been charged? These sounds have
been made by the authorities all over the world, but it is all to scare
people away from playing a game that enters areas that business and
lottery games normally occupy. It is a game, not a pyramid. Check out
the facts and drop your scare tactics. People are making money at this
same as any game! Pity you have to work for yours.

pyramid. Your definition about going for people is wrong, otherwise you

The basis of any lottery game is money, same as this; EXCEPT they do
have a travel discount card that can be used worldwide. Check out
Medicine Hat. Many businesses offer discounts to card holders.
Pentagono has done well in many corners of Alberta, and has given money
to the food bank in Calgary. Have you done so lately?

no bearing in the legitimacy of a scheme that smells like a scam.

Over the past year, the RCMP have received a number of

participation in a pyramid type scheme

common "pyramid" scheme and

may result in a charge under
Section 206(1)(e) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The RCMP has been advised by Italian authorities that this
scheme does not constitute a
criminal offence in Italy, but rather a violation of an
administrative procedure. The Italian
authorities will not be intervening.
The purpose of this bulletin is to alert the Canadian public
to this scheme, still running on the
Internet, so as to prevent readers from becoming innocent
victims. If you encounter any sort
of Internet investment solicitation that encourages you to
urgently mail or send funds and you
feel compelled to participate, the RCMP urges you to first
seek the advice of a local
investment advisor or banker. Rely only on real people that
you can trust!

The joining fee is only $189.00, a small amount compared to the
potential gain. It is also a much better investment than lotteries and
other forms of gambling which offer very little chance of winning
anything. Lotteries are real "get rich quick scams," with millions of

Why did you erase my questions regarding your claims? You have claimed
several things in this thread and have come clean in nothing.
You stated that you know RCMP (cops I presume) who participate in this
"game." Present your evidence, please.
You also stated that the scam/game is supported by Medicine Hat
businesses. Please tell me which ones, so that I may verify when I go down
there. (on the 12th)
Now, as to the scam being a game, illegal betting is also a game, albeit
illegal. You may call it a game, you may call it a religious experience. The
fact of the matter is that some people have less chance of "winning" than
others, and some have no chance in hell. But if you insist on calling it a
game, tell me this; Is it a game of skill? or is it a game of chance? (all
games fall under one of these two categories)
One more thing; If you are up on international events, you undoubtely
know what happened in Albania in '96-97 and what caused riots and the
eventual fall of the government. If you guessed pyramid scams, you are
correct. I can't say that it was connected to this one or not, but the
similarities are there. People lost their life savings because they were
unlucky enough to be at the bottom of the pyramid. Mind you, Albania is a
small country. It will take longer in North America but the result will be
the same. A lot of pissed of people.

Firstly, this Pentagono system involves the purchase of a certificate.
This certificate lists the names of seven participants on it.
New recruits pay the sum of $120 ($180 CDN) when they enter Pentagono;
$40 ($60 CDN) will go to the person who signed them up, $40 ($60 CDN)
goes directly to Future Strategies S.r.l. to cover administration and
monitoring fees, and the remaining $40.00 ($60 CDN) goes to the person

When this new recruit has been processed he/she will then receive (3)
Pentagono Certificates from Future Strategies S.r.l. with his/her name
in Position 7. This new recruit is now required to go out and sell the

the first 90 days or this new recruit forfeits his/her position.
As each successive level below the newest position gets sold this new
recruits name continues to rise on the list until it reaches the top
position. At this point, Future Strategies S.r.l. administrators claim
the new recruit will make $87,480 ($131,220 CDN) thanks to 2187 people

If you simply follow those growing numbers and do the math you quickly
come to learn you will inevitably exceed our world's population.
Pentagono is a "closed system" therefore the amount of money shared by
each and every participant determines total amount of available money
for distribution. In a closed system one persons gain is always at the
expense of another persons loss.
Consistent is the ratio between the number of people who have any gain
and the total number of participants. The percentage is always .0305%,
or 99.9695% of the participants will have no monetary gain.
It is logically and mathematically impossible for every participant to

Pentagono AKA Future Strategies program has an alleged product called
Countdown Card. The discount card which is issued by Countdown PLC is
used to obtain discount in participating establishments worldwide.
Countdown head office's in the UK state their association with Future
Strategies S.r.l is via an Italian licensee. Future Strategies S.r.l.
is a client of the Italian licensee Countdown Italia Agri Immobiliare
S.a.r.l. located in Rome,Italy.
Countdown PLC head office in London, England states Future Strategies
S.r.l produces the cards with the Countdown symbol on them. When each
new recruit joins Pentagono they will receive the Countdown Card FREE
with the general information on Countdown PLC and how they can obtain
discounts. Countdown PLC did confirm that all new recruits interested
in finding out more about where to obtain discount must first contact
Countdown PLC head offices in the UK and Countdown PLC will then sell
the Pentagono recruit copy of the directories containing discounts.
For all intents and purposes Pentagono has NO PRODUCT! The participant
never purchased the Countdown Card. Thus, any claims by Pentagono AKA
Future Strategies proponents which lead prospects to believe Countdown
Card is "the product" is a gross misrepresentation of the facts.

on CFCN Consumer Watch, they are banned from Canada. I have 2 home
based businesses right now and doing just fine in them. Not making
like 100 grand a year or whatever they say, but i'm making something
at least.
Ya guys ever heard of Britts Worldwide? I'm in that right now, it's a
sub-division of the HORRIBLE AMWAY. But after being in the business
for almost a year, it's really not that bad. I never had to CON
people into buying my products, i never had to demonstrate for them
how to use the products, i just basically bought the things i needed
for myself at a distributor's rate. They say you can make 2-3
thousand dollars per month in 2-6 months, believe me, you gota be
either really annoying, force people at gun point, or luckily "have
alot of connections" to get the business to go that fast. I've been
in it for almost a year, and i'm just hitting that mark now, 2-6
months my butt. But at least it's competely LEGAL and it's a real
home based business.
If ya didn't notice, I sorta am trying to promote this business. I've
seen MLM, and i've seen Pyramid Schemes, but this one has worked for
me... It may not work for everyone, but it's worked for me. And
believe me people, i'm only 20 years old, but i notice, sometimes if
it's too good to be true, it's too good to be true.
Anyone ever into these MLM Programs notice that the draws and the
explanations are so simple, but when you try to put it to practice
it's 100 times harder? i totally do. But anywayz, i'm going to leave

A person buys 1 certificate from the person introducing the game to you
(for $60), pays $60 to the person at the top of the certificate, and $60
to the parent company in Italy (a legally registered company) 3
certificates are then faxed/e-mailed back to you (sometimes within
minutes) with your name in the bottom position on the certificate. They
send other supportive documents and a discount card valid around the
world (a booklet gives the places offering discounts with the card
around the world) in snail mail. The card is the only international
discount card in the world, and this is the product that makes the
process (along with the certificates) legal.
Once a person has the certificate in hand, they then sell the 3
certificates Pentagono issued, thereby completely recovering ones money
invested in the game. The only way a person loses is if they do not sell
the certificates. If the 3 are sold within a month, a 4th certificate is
given as a free bonus. The certificates can be tracked at every stage
via computer and the net, so that one even knows who is sending money,
positioning etc. If one is unable to sell a certificate, then after 90
days, the company reabsorbs the certificate(s) and reissues them as
bonus certificates to others. This way the game continues, regardless of
unsold certificates! When a person rises to the 7th level, (from one
week to several--I received money after 4 weeks) one starts to receive
$60 money orders in the mail. As it is a game (like a lottery) it is not
taxable and is like being paid cash. One collects around 2167 money
orders when the game ends (pyramids go on and on, and support a
heirarchical structure; this does not--has fixed numbers).
Many people play again and again. I am in for the second time, and will
always have certificates to sell, even if I run out. (will simply buy in
again) So many of the players are seasoned and keep going around and
using their own strategies, such as selling a certificate for everyone
in the downline so that there is immediate cash happening; which spurs
on the sale of the other 2 certificates.
There are many strategies that are helpful (to those playing). My group
has elected to have weekly meetings, and it is a good social time for
all and source of information for anyone new. It is certainly not dying
down, but has been going for years in 103 countries with no court
challenges anywhere--never being made illegal anywhere in these 103
countries (despite all the hohahas on this newsgroup, or scare tactics
known to be used around the world) I have had money from around the
world, and presently coming from Vancouver.
Nothing dishonest about it, everything is declared, and nothing
guaranteed! Ethically sound also, BUT it does show up people's attitudes
and issues around money! Some will never accept that this is a wealth
redistribution game, operating differently to the way we are accustomed
to making money.

Your absolutely correct... Under Canadian Statute the Pentagono program is
a Pyramid Scheme and therefore its illegal.
Man the Pentagono program doesn't even have a legitimate product/service.
No one ever actually pays for that Countdown Card, no product was purchased
period, and that new SupremaCard is just a front. Therefore, the real product
is the Certificate and that is unacceptable business practice under our
pyramid laws.
But that doesn't much matter these people because their being allowed to
circulate misinformation and outright lies without fear of punishment. I for
one would applaud action by the RCMP. Its their freakin mandate to protect
against crap like this, they need to get off their asses and set an example.
Send a message to the public boys and girls.
BTW, great idea to have them provide names to include contact information
etc. Unfortunately that's never going to happen because they have NO evidence
to support their claims. Their is NO document from any legit law firm which
attests to Pentagono's legality within Canada. These poor souls have been
conned. Either they already know this it and just don't care or they simply

Yes, I too have heard all about the lawyers and cops who joined this
