Big Sky Permaculture is pleased to announce that is is holding an
"Introduction to Permaculture" weekend workshop on March 27 and 28,
2010. This exciting workshop will get you started in the principles
of permaculture and all its implications. Topics include: permaculture
ethics, edible landscaping, energy-efficient house design, soil
rehabilitation, water-efficient design, pattern understanding, and
much more! Whether your interest is gardening, landscaping, designing
houses, community economic development, planning or environmental
advocacy, permaculture design will help you frame environmental and
social challenges in a positive solutions-based manner, and get you
growing your own food right on your yard!
The Introduction To Permaculture workshop is a popular first step into
formal training in permaculture. Informative, inspiring and
practical, this workshop contains a healthy mixture of theory and
engaging hands-on exercises that will equip you with the fundamentals
of permaculture, which will arm you with methods and strategies to
have a positive impact on the environment, boosting food productivity
on you own yard, (re)designing to maximize water efficiency, and
reducing energy usage and costs at home.
As a student of this course, you are invited to attend an optional
hands-on implementation day will will be scheduled at the start of the
growing season, where you will come together with other students and
implement a food forest on a homeowners property, providing you with
hands-on experience using the concepts developed in the course.
