Hello folks,

The City of Calgary Parks is developing a new park in the Beltline area adjacent to the former Dr. Carl Safran School. The new park is located on 12 Ave. and 9 St. S.W. and was once the school yard of the Dr. Carl Safran School.

On February 8th, 2011 the city held two open houses “to share information and ideas” which was unfortunately only mentioned in the media after the fact.  However, there is still an opportunity for input by filling out the two page questionnaire available here.  According to the Parks department, “results from the open houses and online questionnaire will be posted in March and will also be available at the second public open house, date still to be determined.”  This seems like an amazing opportunity to put in a brilliant, communal urban farm: one that actually produces significant quantities of food and incubates community, while providing the green space people in the area desire.  Whether you agree or disagree with that idea, your input is valuable and necessary.

The minute anyone knows when the next open house is, please let the mailing list know.

In the spirit of service,
Tavis Ford

Hey Tavis-
I pressed that "submit" button like three times and nothing seemed to happen. Did I submit it three times or is there some problem with this thing?

Thanks-

Dana
