As discussed, folks, please find attached three very rough maps of
potential Calgary Transit fare zones within city limits. Again, the
concept is that within a fare zone, the base full fare is posited at
$2.00, whereas the act of crossing a fare zone boundary will cost
your passenger an additional $1.00. The plan is to do some research
into fare zone management in a range of North American transit
jurisdictions -- I'm thinking Portland, Denver, Vancouver Translink,
the GTA, and the Edmonton Area -- to see what might actually stick
here in Calgary. Fare zones for places like Airdrie, Chestermere,
Cochrane, and the like, along with demarcating the YYC terminal as
its own fare zone, I will leave as an exercise for the rest of you.
