Made introductions:
-Brendan is a student. Currently interested in Arduino, Procesing, general Making.
-Kyle works at 911 call center (shift work). Interested in building, hacking, making, 3d printers, things his son can learn.
-Taylor is an apprentice electrician. Very interested in Arduino, laser cutters.
Discussed goals and direction.
- Seek new members (through facebook and word of mouth for now).
- Find a work space (large room for now, ok if it's book on a per use basis for workshops to build interest).
- Bowman arts center, upstairs
- Autism organization (Kyle knows someone)
- Save-On-Foods Community room?
- UofL/College
- Ask around!
- Seek partnerships. This could link closely with work space.
- Plan for instructables sponsorship (get a laser cutter or 3d printer in exchange for making instructables).
- Facebook poll on a new name. For now, change to Lethbridge MakeSpace
- Depending on interests of potential members, plan a workshop (for some time in March). This could be anything from soldering to knitting. Something simple, requiring few tools, and attractive to general community.
- Choose a couple of workshop ideas and seek experts to donate time.
- Advertise workshop at UofL (Brendan), College (Taylor), and community (Kyle and Joel)
