Calgary Green Drinks Monthly Gathering
Tuesday, August 18, 2009, 5:00pm-8:00pm
at Vicious Circle (1011 - 1 Street SW)
Having that quick summary helps people find the most critical
information quickly, and makes it more likely that they'll take note
since very few people bother to read entire emails these days.
Similarly, email subjects should have the key points at the start
since the longer the subject line, the more will be cut off. For the
same reason, I keep stuff like dates as short as possible ("Aug18"
instead of "Aug. 18th"). So, I would do your subject as:
Subject: Aug18: Green Drinks - meet some of Calgary's eco-celebrities
Finally, putting any punctuation (except a closing bracket)
immediately after a URL will break the link for most users. E.g., http://greendrinkscalgary.ca
. breaks but http://greendrinkscalgary.ca . doesn't because of the
space between the end of the link and the period.
Thanks.

Green Drinks is an open-format, no-agenda monthly social event for
those interested in the environment to network and socialize. Our
events are held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 5PM downtown.
Best of all, there is no admission fee or member fee. We will even
have door prizes to win on special occasions!
This monthly event series has become the premiere event for the
environmental community in Calgary. These events will often draw
crowds of over 75 people for most events of the year. Those who attend
are focused on making the world a better place, whether through their
personal efforts or their business aspirations or both.
Each event has a majority of new people to meet with, making for a
unique experience every time that you attend. Our participants range
from the interested to the fully engaged, including many of Calgary's
local eco-celebrities. For more info on Green Drinks, go to http://greendrinkscalgary.ca/
