A few days ago someone else had the same problem. I tried it myself and had no problem. It works fine for me with an application specific password. He then said he could fix it by allowing CalenGoo Weather to access his location (there was an error regarding CalenGoo Weather in the "Settings > Information > Log" log). But maybe this was just a coincidence and it was a problem on Apple's side.
Nevertheless we can examine the problem if you like. Just try to add your account again and afterward open "Settings > Information > Log" and email me the log using the email button in the lower left corner.
