G'day Dominique,

My phone launcher had an issue; the agenda widget disappeared after I tweaked the icon density of the homepage.

As it was not displaying, it could not be deleted from the homepage, but the Calengoo App still thinks it is there, so it maintains the settings for it; Agenda Widget 1 (ID:47).

As far as I can tell, there is no way to delete the settings for this inaccessible widget. And the widget cannot be deleted from the homepage, which normally works, as it is already half deleted, sort of…

So, my suggestion is for an additional option in the maintenance section to delete settings for Widget ID: 𝑥 where 𝑥 is the settings to be dropped.

Hi,

unfortunately only the launcher can remove widget. So CalenGoo cannot remove these widgets, you have to ask the support of your launcher to add such an option. CalenGoo just lists which widgets there are according to what your launcher tells CalenGoo.

Please don't hesitate to contact me again if you have further questions!

Kind regards

Dominique

I see. I thought one of the widget settings had been orphaned, but you are saying the widget is still there as you are reporting a setting for that widget, even though it cannot be seen or accessed any more.

Oh well. Talking to Samsung about their applications is an exercise in futility. I already tried that a few weeks ago. They told me to re-log an issue after installing all their additional bloatware. And that was after I had supplied them with a work-around. So that's not going to happen.

Thanks.

Hi,

yes, it is a pity that apps cannot remove their own widgets. And what makes it even more complicated is that the widget must not even belong to your current launcher. If you have multiple launchers, the widget (that you cannot see and remove) could be in one of the launchers that you have used in the past and that you no longer use now.

Maybe you could try to deactivate that kind of widget in CalenGoo ("Settings > Widgets > Available widget") and restart your phone. Maybe that might make the launcher remove these widgets because they are no longer "supported" by the app. Afterward you can enable that kind of widget in CalenGoo again.

Please don't hesitate to contact me again if you have further questions!

Kind regards

Dominique
