I mostly use Calengoo on Linux desktop and rarely Android. But decided I need to set up calendars on laptop (Windows 11) for when I travel. I am using Etesync CalDAV on Linux, but am having a heck of a time getting my calendars in Windows. No matter what I input that worked on Linux/Android, I get "Unable to get calendar" on Windows. I even tried importing .ics files with no success. Any help appreciated.

Could it be an SSL problem? Do you access Etesync using http or https? When you access it using https it will probably use an own, self signed certificate that CalenGoo will not know.

And how did you import the ICS file? Just by right clicking a calendar and selecting "Import from ICS file"?

Kind regards

Well I did click ignore SSL host errors and it is http://, which btw works fabulously in Calengoo Linux desktop. So I copied the ics file exported from the Calengoo Linux app for one calendar and tried to import it in the Windows installation (File/Import Calendar from ICS) , but it did not work. When I "Select file" there is a button to the right "Paste ICS file" and below, "Import into: " drop down, but after selecting the file "My Calender" Type: Calengoo ICS,  it shows the file name to the right of Select file, but the Import into: dropdown has nothing to select. So the Import button never becomes available.

Any update on this issue? Need to get Calengoo syncing on Windows 11.

Hi,

please excuse my late reply! If the dropdown is empty it means that you have no calendars into which the ICS file could be imported. You have to create a calendar first, e.g. by creating a "Local account" under "Settings > Accounts" and then creating a calendar for it by right-clicking the account in the "Calendars" pane and selecting "Add calendar".

However, is that really what you want? You would then only have a copy of your calendar in CalenGoo but it would not be synced. You would have to import new ICS files every time you make a change.

So let's check what is wrong with Etesync instead. Please try to enter your account again under "Settings > Accounts" in CalenGoo. Afterward please email me ( des...@calengoo.com ) your logs:

Open "Settings > System > Show logs" in CalenGoo to open an Explorer/Finder window that shows CalenGoo's logs. Keep that window open. Exit CalenGoo and wait 10 seconds to let it finish writing its logs. Then send me the files "calengoo0.log" and "calengoo1.log" from the Explorer/Finder window.

Thank you very much!

Kind regards

Dominique

Sent from gutterma...@protonmail.com. Message sent says des...@calengoo.com. It did not come back returned. Is that the correct email?

Hi,

thank you, I have received your logs now. In the logs I found this:

SEVERE: org.apache.http.conn.HttpHostConnectException: Connect to localhost:37358 [localhost/127.0.0.1, localhost/0:0:0:0:0:0:0:1] failed: Connection refused: connect
[...]
SEVERE: at com.calengoo.desktop.network.tasks.g.a(CalDAVTaskSync.java:135)
Jun 17, 2023 11:27:54 AM
SEVERE: at com.calengoo.desktop.controller.SetupCalDAVAccountController.onSave(SetupCalDAVAccountController.java:1174)

"Connection refused" means that CalenGoo could not connect to your server, probably because there was no server under that address. Is "localhost", port 37358 really the correct port for your Etesync?

Kind regards

This is the same server settings on all my other Calengoo with Etesync setups (Linux/Android):
Only Etesync says to leave off the user name in the server address; I tried it with and without in Windows 11
I don't really understand a lot about this stuff, but I do know that 127.0.0.1 is my local host address for all of my ProtonMail imap accounts. Why would that be included after the 37358?
Is it possible to send you a log from the other setups and see if you can find any difference?

"localhost" and "127.0.0.1" is the same. It just means that it cannot connect to port 37358 of your own computer. Is Etesync maybe running on a different port? Or does your Windows firewall block CalenGoo?

Kind regards
