I am using a local account calendar (not android calendar). What is the advantages in using one vs the other?

1. Does this mean that the calendar will be stored in Calengoo database?
2. When I schedule automatic backup then the calendar and all settings and templates will be backed up, correct?
3. When I do a manual backup, I can backup the calendar and all settings and templates will be backed up, correct?
4. When I use android calendar then when adding an event I saw some preset colors available but now that I am using local calendar I don't see any preset colors. All I see is 'No individual color' and for every event I have to click this 'No individual color' to select a color for the event. How can I have the preset colors?

Thanks.

These preset colors are not available for local calendars. But you can save colors on the outer ring of the color picker by dragging them from the center onto one of the boxes in the outer ring.

Please don't hesitate to contact me again if you have further questions!

thanks for your replies.

How can I synchronize my android calendar with my calengoo local calendar? Even though I am using calengoo local calendar I also want my android calendar to have all events because I use my android calendar information in other apps.

That's not possible, local CalenGoo calendars can only be accessed with CalenGoo. If you want a local calendar that is shared between the Android calendar and CalenGoo, then just create a local calendar in the Android calendar, e.g. by using this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.sufficientlysecure.localcalendar

Then just turn "Settings > Accounts > Android" on to see that calendar in CalenGoo, too.

Another question - 'Export calendar as ICS file' action in maintenance or backup section in settings is exporting android calendar and not my local calendar.  I thought this function exports whatever calendar is in use but that does not seem to be the case. This action is always exporting android calendar.

You can select a calendar in that screen and that's the calendar that is exported. Just don't choose your Android calendar but your local calendar then it should work.
