Backup and Restore Settings

Can all personalized Calengoo settings be backed up and restored after a phone reset or getting a new phone?  Or does it all have to be put in manually again?

Hi!

Yes, you can backup them using "Settings > Display and Use > Maintenance > Export settings > Google Drive" and import them on your new phone using "Settings > Display and Use > Maintenance > Import settings > Google Drive".

Another option is to copy CalenGoo's whole database, e.g. by using the backup under "Settings > Backups > Automatic backups" and using the function to upload the backups to Google Drive.

Hello  Dominique,
I just got a new phone and tried the backup and restore settings option, but it is not doing anything. It says it imported successfully, but none of my accounts are back in the new phone.

What could I do to troubleshoot this?

Hello Raj,

the settings don't contain your accounts. If you want to transfer your accounts you have to use a backup under "Settings > Backups > Automatic backups". Additionally, after restoring the backup on a new phone you have to sign in again: Open "Settings > Accounts > your Google account > Sign in again", sign in and tap "Allow".

Thank you so much  Dominique! That worked. I got my accounts back.

But I notice that the notification settings (like the sounds) are not the same. How do I get those settings also back?

Hi,

great, I am glad that it worked! 😊

Most sounds are device specific, e.g. if you have used the ringtones of your phone. If CalenGoo cannot find a sound it will use the default sound. So you will probably have to set the sounds again.
