Hi again, Dominique. I have installed 1584, and I have checked the new setting. However, when I create a new event, and mark it as tentative, it does not show as faded. I think the problem is that - as you explained earlier in this thread - there are two different types of tentative event. I suspect that the new setting applies to the first type, but not the second? However, I was asking about the second type of tentative which, as you explained, you change using the setting "Display free events - Special color". Below, in italics, I have copied (and slightly clarified) what I wrote to you a few weeks back in a new post, which was entitled "Display free events - Special color". Is it possible to add these selections (below) to the "Display free events - Special color" setting?
I'd like to be able to be able to easily identify tentative events (as in free/tentative/busy). You showed me how to do it using Settings > Display and Use > General > Display free events" to "Special color", then choose color for tentative. However, doing that means that: (i) all tentative events are shown in the selected color, regardless of which calendar they're on and (ii) all free events also are set to the specific color you choose for that setting, again regardless of their calendar.
When the user selects "Special color" , two drop-downs appear: one for free events, the other for tentative events. Would it be possible to add a "Use assigned calendar color" choice for the "free event" setting (which, if selected, would, in effect, leave the display of free events unchanged)? And for the "tentative" drop-down, add "Assigned calendar color, faded" , so that tentative events would be displayed in the calendar's color, but would be faded?
