Programmer's mode is nearly to the point that others can start using
it. If you'd like to beta test this and other features, I can add your
iPhone to my Ad Hoc distribution profile and send you a copy of the
current development version. If that sounds interesting, send me your
phone's UDID, and I'll send you a couple files to install on your
phone.

The "easiest" way to get the UDID seems to be to connect your phone to
your mac, open iTunes, go to your iPhone summary page, click where it
says "serial number," and the display will show your UDID. Press cmd-C
and it will copy the UDID to the clipboard. Here's what mine looks
like: d3e28b65bb06fdd28cf3bb7c09ddd067e6794137

Chad,

I would be interested, but I use a Touch. Does it have something
similar to UDID?

I assume so. Did you connect the device to iTunes and look for the UDID?

Chad,

iTunes for the Touch just shows the Serial Number, no UDID.

Even if you click where it says "serial number"?

John, you might also try the app "Ad Hoc Helper" It's a free program that lets you email your UDID.

CRASH! (Reproducible too.)

Downloaded the update. Looked promising with some new units and the
asked-for programmer’s mode. While testing programmers, had entered
some number (in decimal) and it was displaying hex above that.
Wondered how to enter in hex. Clicked on the “DEC” button and got hex
input. Wanted to input a different value, clicked "<--" (delete/clear)
and, after a long delay, got the iPhone home screen.

Really like the calculator otherwise. Figured if you knew about this
you could fix it!
