Greetings Black Community!

To kick off Cal Women Rugby’s homecoming weekend, it is a great pleasure to personally invite you all to the screening of Red, White, Black, and Blue on Friday, February 28 at 7pm in 155 Dwinelle on the UC Berkeley Campus.

Red, White, Black and Blue is an award winning documentary about the journey of an inner city high school rugby program from Los Angeles to New Zealand to compete and make connections that will last a life time. Cal Women’s Rugby is sponsoring this event to spread knowledge of the game and culture of rugby, and also shed light on the individual victories that are won just by being a part of a team. We hope to get the public more informed, interested, and involved in the growing sport of rugby and also connect established and growing teams to build a stronger rugby community in the bay area.

The screening will begin with a talk from guest speaker Stuart “Moose” Krohn, former international player and founder of the ICEF Rugby program. The talk will lead into the film with time for questions and comments afterwards.

In attendance will be Cal students, athletes, public supporters, and other well respected rugby and non-rugby organizations. This is a chance to enjoy a great movie and build connections with other programs in the neighborhood and across campus. Admission is $8 for the public $6 dollars for students with group rates available, all money raised will go to the Cal Women’s Rugby club fund and help us with team expenses this semester.

Your presence will greatly contribute to the supportive and diverse cultural and rugby atmosphere that we are aiming to create. Please confirm your attendance by February 22nd. I’ve attached the official flyer, feel free to forward it to other interested people. If you have any questions or concerns email Lauren Butler at laure...@berkeley.edu.

We look forward to seeing you there.
