Greetings Community Members,

African American Student Development will begin to accept dates for the Blackboard Calendar. Blackboard provides an interactive calendar to find descriptions, locations, and times for the events held by our black campus organizations. Go to http://tinyurl.com/aasdblackboard to access it! No account is required.

To Have Your Events Posted On The Blackboard Calendar:

Please email aasdbla...@gmail.com with the following information:

In the subject of the email please state: YOUR STUDENT ORG HERE Blackboard Calendar Dates

1. Name of event & hosting organization

2. Date(s), Time, Location

3. Event description

Here is an example:

“Black Wednesday: hosted by African American Student Development”

Date: October 1, 2014

Time: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Location:  Golden Bear Café

Description: Come and hang out with the AASD staff and engage with UC Berkeley faculty. We’ll have snacks, music, and activities for everyone to enjoy as we bridge the gap between students and faculty.

To ensure your events are posted in a timely manner:

1. Do not send links to Google Calendars. Send an email with the aforementioned formatting in the body, or in a document.

2. Ensure that at least a date, time, and description are on your events. We understand that locations are hard to secure but the calendar serves as a hub of information for the community, not a place holder for dates. We will not post an event without a date, time and description.

3. Only email aasdbla...@gmail.com with your event dates. Do not send your dates to the personal emails of AASD staff members.

4. Remember, events are added on a first come, first serve basis.

Your event information will be updated within a couple days (most likely the same day if demand is not too high). You can send as many events at the same time as you wish, and please keep us updated throughout the year. Also, try to send event info as early as possible, PREFERABLY 1-2 weeks in advance! If you ever need to update or cancel an event, email aasdbla...@gmail.com

Thank you for your cooperation,

AASD Staff
