For example, if I want to italicize a word, I type * and get ** with a cursor between the two asterisks. So far so good. I begin typing the word, but the only way I can move to the next word is to type another *, which seems to defeat the purpose of auto-pairing because you have to type the symbol a second time to close the pair.
When this is on:
If I select a word and double type the open square bracket when this is turned on it puts the double brackets around the work and it becomes a link.
This is great, this is the behaviour I want.
If I turn this feature off though, selecting a word and pressing the square brackets just deletes and overtypes the word with a bracket.
Just tried to find a solution for this and see that this post is dead. Would be nice if there was a way to either split up brackets and quotes autopair setting, or for there to be a shortcut that escaped things faster than reaching a finger to the right to press the right arrow key.
I have all of our vehicles paired with my phone so I can stream music while driving. The problem is that I am not the only person to use them. So I am listening to something on my airpods and someone else starts a car and my phone automatically pairs with the car and plays over that. Is there a way to disable this other than forgetting the car when I am not using it?
Since there are multiple vehicles, you also should have the option in the vehicle's settings to set it up to give one device the option to be the first device to pair. I have my iPhone and my wife's iPhone paired to both of our vehicles. However, if we are both in her car, it will default connect to her car first, and if we are in my car, it pairs to me first. If we are in each individual car, it will pair to the person in the vehicle.
When you Forget this Device on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, that accessory is removed from the list of available Bluetooth devices. To add the Bluetooth accessory to your device again, place it back in discovery mode and repeat the steps above to pair it again.
I'm developing a system app for rooted devices (installed in /system/app and with root access) in which I need to pair with a bluetooth device automatically. I know some devices such as parrots, bluetooth headsets..etc that have a fixed pin, so I can pair successfully with them without user input.
To write the payload learn what keys you need to press on the keyboard first. Note any place there might be a delay. I usually write everything down in notepad. Then I follow what I wrote exactly to see how it works. Once you get it working use the docs to translate it into ducky script. At that point you can test it with the Flipper. You will probably have to use the delay command in a few places so the computer can keep up. You will probably want to force the computer to forget the Flipper between tests if you want this to work on devices that have never been paired with your Flipper.

I'm new to Doom Emacs and Emacs in general and the problem I have with it is that it pairs characters automatically, for example when I want to insert single double quote sign like this " it inserts two double quote signs like this: "". I know that this feature is probably very useful for many people but I'd like to make it insert single quote instead of pair. If you know how to solve my problem please make your answer as easy to understand as possible. Also please forgive me any mistakes in my writing as I'm not a native speaker nor do I know english very well.

Important: For best results, keep your phone's Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Location Services turned on while you complete the setup. Make sure your car is in park (P) with the infotainment system on, and allow time to set up Android Auto before you start your drive.
Once your phone is paired with your car via Bluetooth, Android Auto should start within a few seconds. If not, follow the on-screen prompts to start Android Auto. You might need to tap Android Auto on your car display.
It did reconnect automatically for the last two years until I changed phones, deleted the old phone profile, then paired the new phone. It does work correctly when phone is selected, but when I restart the car I have to manually select the phone's profile in the car's bluetooth menu. In the past the phone would always connect and music would play within a few seconds of restarting the car, and I didn't have to do anything manually.
I have tried other phones to troubleshoot and still have same problem: the phone will pair, and everything will work, but after restarting the car it won't switch to the phone automatically and I have to manually select the phone in the car menu.
You shouldn't have to "re-pair" the speaker. Once the bluetooth speaker is paired with your Macbook, it should reconnect automatically in the future. Waking the computer from sleep mode shouldn't be causing issues.
There's an Applescript on Stackoverflow here that will automatically pair a specific bluetooth device when run. You can save this script as an automator action, and then map the automator action to a specific keyboard shortcut. That way, you'll be able to pair the speaker with a quick keystroke whenever it gets disconnected.

(download) is a minor mode that works with almost all major modes. This is probably the easiest (and best) way to achieve autopair functionality in all your favorite modes. (Note that the autopair author is also recommending electric-pair-mode for Emacs 24.4 and up.)
You may also select a region within the string and quote it. When this happens, the appropriate escape characters are used. For example by selecting the word quoting and pressing in emacs-lisp-mode gives:
