Quests can be given or tasked with by NPCs for a certain goal that will either benefit them, you, or both. Such quests usually come with rewards such as Name Tags, Lunch Money, etc. in addition to the other items dropped by NPC enemies. such as: Food, Loot boxes, etc.
Custom quests used to be made from buying a Quest Maker at the Utilities shop, however this option, after the merge, is no longer available & usable anymore. However, the item still works in School of Chaos Classic to this day.
The quest NPCs will always appear in the spawn area. (Infirmary if in the school, the mall if in the city) they will be shown by a beam of light surrounding them and emojis popping out here and there. In order to interact with the NPC you must walk up to the NPC. If you try to talk to the NPC after accepting the quest, they will say random things. The quest NPC's character will change whenever the player has finished the quest.
After you accept the quest, the NPC will advise you to look at your map to know the location you are supposed to go to. If you leave the Infirmary there is kinda a 50/50 chance that you will be teleported to the given location, or you will just have to walk there. Quests in the School usually take place in all rooms, except for the the Main Hall and the Playground.
After you accept the NPCs quest, they will ask if you want to be teleported to the said location. it is highly recommended to accept the offer as most quest locations are pretty far away from the Mall. Quests in the City usually take place at either the Warehouse, the Cafe, the Nightclub or at the Diner.
Bad Nerd follows a timeline which is pre-school of chaos. each time you start a new game you get a set of specific quests for you to complete, again, these quests are are given out by NPCs, but this time instead of them just standing still, they jump in the air and swing their arms at you. Some of the NPCs quests are optional such as the Panic Boy and the Mysterious Kid in the Main Hall. if a quest is on-going all the other quest NPCs will stand still and will mumble random words when interacted with, similar to School of Chaos.
After Twirp has defeated the final boss of Bad Nerd, he is comes back to school again feeling good after his summer vacation and having his mom taking him to the comic store. He is greeted by an NPC who tells him about this weird new kid at the gym. After Twirp confronts him, the new kid decided to pull a prank switching off the lights, but there is a plot-twist! A zombie invasion is going on! Sparking the earliest instances of the apocalypse. The rest of the quest NPCs are just stand-offs offering Twirp to kill zombies for Zombie Drools. Nothing really changes much after the final boss is destroyed, as this game and Bad Nerd are considered discontinued.
Based on the amount of time taken to complete a quest, the quest user interface ranks the top 100 players who get a bonus of 20 name tags. This user interface is called "speedrank" and the bonus is called "speedrank bonus".
When quests are done in a party with friends, a few bonus tags are awarded to the all players in the party. Higher the number of players in the party, higher will be the number of bonus tags rewarded after finishing the quest.
To invite a friend to one's party, the player needs to walk up to their friend and tap "use", then tap "invite to party" from the menu that appears. The player will receive a message in the chat when their friend joins their party.
To remove a friend from one's party, the player needs to open their backpack and tap on a blue file icon called "settings", tap on "manage party" and then tap on username of their friend. The player will receive a message in the chat that their friend was removed from their party. When all friends are removed, the player will receive the following message in the chat "The party is over. No members left".

I'm currently in my third year of physics and my first question would be what courses would be especially pertinent for me to choose as my electives? Whenever I had the chance thus far, I've taken maths courses as my electives, and I'm also taking the "honors" version of maths courses offered at my university, which are targeted at Maths Honors majors and Mathematical Physics majors. Not only does maths interest me a great deal, I now figure a good mathematical background is essential if I want to go on into aforementioned fields. But what maths courses would be especially relevant if I want to pursue the aforementioned fields?
Thus far I've taken the following mathematics courses: Honors Calculus I and II, Honors Advanced Calculus I and II, Honors Linear Algebra I and II, Introduction to Group Theory, Ordinary Differential Equations and Honors Complex Analysis. I'm taking Linear Algebra III and PDE's next term, and I also heard topology is necessary if I want to go into the fields I mentioned. Is this true? What else would I need?
edit: For anyone reading this years after the creation of the thread, I actually switched to math in my last year of undergrad, am now doing a Ph.D. in Pure Mathematics, and after taking the required courses hope to start with research this Fall (2016). I'm still keen on looking at dynamical systems, but it's probably going to be ergodic theory/symbolic dynamics/complex dynamics.
In the long view, since you're coming from a physics background, you might want to learn Hamiltonian mechanics and start looking at things like integrable systems, perturbation theory, and the stability of the solar system -- which is something you'll probably do at some point anyways. (Besides, this is historically how the subject got started.) You may get some of that in an advanced undergraduate class on classical mechanics (they should at least touch on Lagrangian mechanics), but probably not much. An excellent segue is V.I. Arnold's Mathematical Methods of Classical Mechanics. Another very good book, and heavy on the math, is Goldstein's Classical Mechanics. Both of these are considered graduate-level texts but you sound like you can handle them.
About the math involved: if you haven't had a class on real analysis yet, you might want to think about that. If you have, measure theory might be the next logical step. Differential geometry could also help, although that might be a bit ambitious, and besides, Arnold develops it as he goes. If you don't get this as an undergrad, it may not be a big deal, but you should certainly think about all of these things in grad school.
As soon as you start talking about strange attractors, the possibility of fractals comes in, and then topology and measure theory will be helpful, so that you can talk about things like the fractal dimension of your basin of attraction. One of my favorite examples of this is the magnetic pendulum which has wonderfully strange properties.
If it's offered, you could consider taking a course on Statistical Mechanics, where you would hopefully get introduced to the ergodic hypothesis. In this context, you might want to look at things like the Poincare recurrence theorem, applied to, say, a gas in a box. This could give you a feeling for how measure-theoretic questions and ergodicity can enter into dynamical systems. You might also look at Arnold's Ergodic Problems of Classical Mechanics.
In general, Scholarpedia is an excellent source on all of these topics: it's like wikipedia on math-crack. They have a whole section devoted to dynamical systems, with articles written by people who made significant contributions to the subject.
