thinkingParticles Release 7.3 (Subscription Drop 4)
ME-L - Redefining VFX with Explosion Tool and Simplified ComplexitythinkingParticles Release 7.3 Service Pack 4, where powerful new features redefine the landscape of 3ds Max visual effects.
Building on the success of its predecessor, this latest release introduces a refined version of our Math Expression Language, ME-L, while unveiling groundbreaking tools that enhance both complexity and ease of use.
New thinkingParticles Systems: Effortless Explosions, Infinite CreativityDive into the future of visual effects creation with the all-new Explosion System. This pre-built tool streamlines the process of generating complex explosions, offering ready-made setups for Burst, Debris, Spike, Shock Wave, and more.
Fine-tune parameters with easy-to-use interfaces, empowering artists to effortlessly create a diverse range of explosion effects. The system emphasizes flexibility, allowing you to customize shock waves, debris, and condensation rings with unparalleled ease. Unleash your creativity without compromising speed.
ME-L 7.3 continues to redefine the VFX landscape, now more robust and dynamic than ever in our latest thinkingParticles 7.3 Service Pack 4 (SP4) release.
It transforms from a simple math expression language into a comprehensive scripting powerhouse, offering users unparalleled possibilities for their VFX setups.
Lightning-Fast ScriptingME-L 7.3 stands out as a game-changer with its lightning-fast real-time interpreter/compiler. Processing every aspect of a VFX setup in a massively parallel way, it empowers users to navigate through particles, dynamics, and more without constraints.
The potential for innovation and creativity becomes boundless.Multi-Core Processing PowerHarness the full potential of multi-core processors with ME-L 7.3, unlocking the ability to create VFX shots that were previously considered impossible.
The efficiency and speed offered by ME-L 7.3 push the boundaries of what can be achieved, allowing users to elevate their VFX projects to new heights.
Explosion System is a collection of ready made special purpose Nodes to create realistic explosions. Explosion Tool is the fastest and easiest way to create an explosion setup while still having full control over each and every aspect.
thinkingParticles' fluid solver got another update. Now, it is even more responsive to pressure changes and calculations are more optimized. Creating splashes and more realistic behavior is now even easier than before.
ME-L learned some new tricks! Now you can create your own markers with ME-L, they can be in the form of Text, Lines, Points and Colors. It allows you to use ME-L speedy processing to create all kind of Debugging information inside of 3ds Max.
ME-L in action!Just a few lines of code, and you get to control Fire & Smoke simulations like never possible before! Use Audio to drive a fire simulation. Thanks to its massively parallel processing power this simulation runs in near real-time, right from inside of 3ds Max
ME-L in action!Just a few lines of code, the accumulation of snow (on top of surfaces) along with proper occlusion is a Childs play. Thanks to its massively parallel processing power this simulation runs in near real-time, right from inside of 3ds Max
ME-L in action!Just a few lines of code, and you get your very own Flocking (Boids) simulation. And best of all - you have it under control! The ME-L node acts is as fast and behaves exactly like a native thinkingParticles node!
Why use trickery and complicated simulation VFX setups? Just dop the real thing and simulate the Cladnis Resonance Plate from right within 3ds Max! A few lines of ME-L code, and you're good to go. It is fast and behaves like a native tP Node.
ME-L is fast, lighting fast! Even though it offers a very deep and complex scripting language, its Syntax is easy to learn and delivers on all fronts. You can literally write your own tP Nodes without any penalty to speed or restrcitions to functionality.
Fluid is now an option to the MPM Solver. This new material property allows a range of liquid behavior, from high viscosity Gel like fluids to running rivers - all is possible now. In addition, the workhorse SPH solver has been enhanced and fine tuned as well!
Just shy of 2 months after its Major release of thinkingParticles 7.1, the innovation continues! thinkingParticles 7.2 delivers on enhanced robustness and increased speed. Subscription users can enjoy more stability, enhanced OpenVDB processing speed, and a whole new expression language called ME-L.
thinkingParticles 7.2 delivers on Stability and Speed. ME-L scripting offers fully procedural fast and efficient OpenVDB volume data creation and manipulation. A massive parallel software architecture, unlocks the full potential of Your Multi-Core CPU.

An example of how my TP system was working relied on different states (walking, taking off, flying, landing) as groups. When a particle would move from one group to the other this problem would happen. Most times the changing of a group would be accompanied with a velocity stop, but even a slow stop this would happen.
