Hello, during the HaL4 Meeting in Germany there will be a pratical CAL
tutorial.

Here the official Reminder from planet.haskell.org:

HaL4: Haskell-Meeting in Germany, 12th June 2009. Janis Voigtlaender
reminded everyone of Hal4, a German-language Haskell gathering to be
held in Halle/Saale on June 12. There are already close to 50
registered participants, so expect a very lively meeting! Late
registration still possible.

For the full program see http://iba-cg.de/hal4.html

Well, it's the 12th!

Perhaps somebody could let us know how this event went off -
particularly the CAL segment :-)

The Event went very well! During the Workshop we have done more than
40 cal eclipse installations (Mac, Windows, Linux). We showed live how
to create a CAL/Java project, create a run configuration, use ice and
the nice plugin features (refactor, go to definition, outline and
co.). Many participants followed these steps, so we have pushed the
CAL user community just a little bit further.

See http://iba-cg.de/quark_cal.html#english for details. I mainly
emphasized the practical use of CAL to generate typsafe SQL and to use
it for teaching of Students (better than Haskell, because the eclipse
plugin, better documentation and naming schema).

I will translate the tutorial PDF to English in the next few weeks.
