I’ve sometimes wondered: does the rudder stock just bear on the Fiberglass of the rudder tube or are there some kind of bearings? Anyone ever looked into this?

I pulled my rudder to replace the shaft and cutlass a few years ago. There is a bearing or bushing at the top of the tube as I recall. I remember putting grease in it.I can't recall. It was kind of hairy hanging in the Travel Lift. and that rudder is heavy.
I will give you a call tomorrow.
