Here's the most recent update from Derrick.

OK Folks,
Just received a text from Anissa's mom Leann that said that the media reports about her cousins being found are premature and not substantiated yet. She is asking that everyone still continue to pray despite the media reports.

Thank you,
Coach D : - )

Update #3 from Derrick regarding the Shultz family.

OK Folks,

Here is the latest:

Uncle Geary made it over to Brussels and is with his wife Carolyn who is the Aunt that suffered hearing loss from the bomb explosion. Not sure of how her hearing is doing, but she is with family now.

No new word yet on the status of Leann's cousins, Steph and Justin Shultz. CAL parents have been very pivotal in helping search for them. Joy Davis forwarded my emails to all the CAL football parents grades 1-12. There is a CAL football dad, Shawn Mattingly, who is in the Air Force with some very good contacts within the Air Force who specialize in these things, for lack of a better explanation. Also Vivek Sarin, Adeline's dad, has some connections within Gov. Bevin's office and the head of the Governor's security detail has been in contact with his counterpart within the consulate's office in Belgium to help locate Steph and Justin. Thank you CAL parents for your prayers and support.

To quote Leann: "I am humbled by the outpouring of support and prayers from everyone. Even in this extremely difficult situation we see Gods hands working all around us. We find peace in know that his plan is perfect and although we don't know the outcome we do know that he is here. He is moving hearts and hands into action. We continue to covet your prayers and will update as soon as we have one. Thanks again for everything."

Update #4 from Derrick regarding the Shultz family.

Ok Folks,

As many of you have probably already heard from news reports this weekend, Justin and Stephanie Shultz were confirmed to have died in the Brussels bombings of last week. Leann, Anissa's mom, wanted to say a few words to the team and parents.

"I’ve been struggling on what to say or write and quite honestly I’ve been putting it off. I want to say thank you to everyone for the prayers, it is the only thing that kept us going. I wanted you all to know who the family is that you have been praying for. If you looked up the word passionate in the dictionary, Stephanie and Justin’s picture would be there. They were passionate about family, they were passionate about their faith and they were passionate about life. Steph, Holly, Carolyn, Geary, Justin and Bo greeted me into the family with absolutely no judgements. Anything Stephanie and her sister Holly decided to do they not only accomplished it but they did it BIG and Justin and Holly’s husband Bo were right there to cheer them on. Justin always had me cracking up because he was so competitive! Whether we were playing a family poker game (I’ve beat him on more than one occasion 😁), playing bocce ball on the beach, our family fantasy football league or during our fantasy big brother league, he was always ready with not only the statistics and probabilities of the game but with a determination to win that was unmatched. I loved it, I too am super competitive and always knew I would have a challenge on my hands to beat him.The thing I will miss most about Stephanie is the way she made me feel. She had this ability to make you feel like you were the only person on the planet that she was talking to. She was sincere, funny, and quite frankly, she was amazing. They made this world a better place and the love they had for each other was inspiring. I miss them both so much and I am a better person for knowing them. God has you both in his arms, I have you both forever in my heart. I love you and always will."
