Earth Month Week 2
Take part in supporting our community, planet, and future
As quoted by Jane Goodall, “You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference and you have to decide what kind of a difference you want to make.”
If you’re able to do so, our friends at UCSF shared these ways to lend a helping hand by sewing face masks or donating meals to frontline healthcare workers.

Earth Month EcoChallenge - Week #2
Dedicate your actions to Earth and all inhabitants throughout April!
What is the Earth Day EcoChallenge?
Earth Day EcoChallenge is a 30-day environmental and social engagement program that helps you put your Earth Day intentions into action by providing you with the information, motivation, tools, and community to make a difference for our planet Earth.
Each week, our newsletter will highlight two key challenges, which contain a list of actions related to the topic. These challenges are not a competition, but a way for all of us to engage in conscientious actions to help our planet and its inhabitants.
If you’re interested in joining the UC Berkeley team, please click here.
(You may also partake in the challenges individually.)
Challenge #1: Wildlife
Wildlife provides humans with ecosystem balance, building materials, medicines, and recreation-- but species diversity is declining due to harmful human activities. Take the one-time challenge to research the benefits of biodiversity.
Challenge #2: Oceans
Oceans regulate our climate, produce half of the oxygen we breathe, and provide sustainable livelihoods for millions of people. Take the daily challenge to support organic growing methods by purchasing goods grown without the use of synthetic nitrogen fertilizers.
