Dear CACS Community,
The Green Fund Grant application is available online! The Green Fund Grant, not to be confused with The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF), is funded by CACS. The application is due March 31st, 2008. Please forward the announcement below widely. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Irene

Have a great idea how to make your campus more sustainable? Apply for the Chancellor's Green Fund Grant by March 31st. This grant enables members of the UC Berkeley campus community to undertake projects that will create a greener, more environmentally sustainable campus -- while saving resources and money in the process.

Announced at the Annual UC Berkeley Sustainability Summit on April 21st, 2008, the Green Fund provides one-time funding to projects led by students, faculty and staff which help move Cal toward environmental sustainability. This funding is given on a competitive basis to four recipients in a lump sum of $2500, and many projects are proposed based on the opportunities identified in the 2005 Campus Sustainability Assessment.

Examples of projects funded in 2007 include creating sustainable practices in Wurster Hall's design studios, an electricity-efficient model at I-House, and creating multi-compartment recycling receptacles for dorm rooms and many more. Click on this link to get the application. If you have any questions, contact Sarah Hawthorne at ac...@berkeley.edu. Applications are due by 5 pm on March 31st, emailed to acads@berkeley.edu as well.
