Initiation Updates

Hey all,

Hope you all are well. I had a couple of things to update you on from initiation this last Saturday.

First, Initiation went remarkably well, and the actives should be EXTREMELY proud of what the pulled off. It was done in 6 hrs for 8 people which is pretty good. 7 AM until 1 PM.  Active participation was also high, with people (some of whom were injured) showed up for the duration of the night before and the day of. 

The second and more somber note is that the same can't be said for us. The Actives got several messages from multiple sources saying that 3 of us would be there to help with initiation, as they were already short on people, but ultimately only one of us showed up. 

Not sure what happened, but I know it's a thing we need to fix. We can't claim to be more organized than them and then do this. The actives were mostly okay with it, but regardless, we can't ask them to ask us for help if we aren't going to help. 

My suggestion is for us to formulate an apology from ALL of us and convey it to the actives.

Thank you for the update, Surya.

And thank you for representing the alumni at initiation. 

I was completely responsible as one of the alumni that didn't show up.

I had planned to show up for the early portion of initiation until I had to go due to a prior-made plan, but my phone which I was using as an alarm had died before it went off.

I can create a card as an apology on behalf of the alumni as I was supposed to represent those who couldn't make it.

Thanks Stacy, that sounds like a great idea. 

Would one of you be able to reach out to the actives and see who is going to convention as well? I would do it, but you guys seem to have better rapport.

I can do that, we should probably plan our social soon. I think it'd be fun!
