On iPhone, you can make your screen dimmer or brighter (dimming the screen extends battery life). You can also adjust the screen brightness and color manually or automatically with Dark Mode, True Tone, and Night Shift.

I have immunofluorescence images of cells grown on a culture plate. The microscope took 16 images per well (so it imaged the whole well). When I drop the (tiff) images into imagej, there is a very big difference in the brightness of the images from the same well. In some images you can see the cells clearly, but others are black until you increase the brightness and contrast.

When I measure the fluorescence of the cells (which I need to do for my experiments), there is a big difference between these images, which is obscuring the results. The means of the histogram look different too.

@Nottsuni
Looking at your images, it looks like Image1 is oversaturated. If you compare the histograms of the two images, Image1 scales from 181-65535 and Image 2 from 246-5168.
When adjusting the the brightness, do you hit the Apply button? If so, then that can throw off your fluorescent measurements and you should not Apply the adjusted brightness settings.

But I was really surprised that the images have such different brightness levels and it makes me think that either there is a microscope issue or imagej is automatically correcting the background and contrast without me knowing?

If whatever you are doing for your analysis calculates the mean value of something related to the fluorescence, then like any case where there is an extreme outlier when calculating the mean, it will have an impact on your final results.

Use the Image>Adjust>Brightness/Contrast tool to enhance the displayed image but leave the pixel values unchanged. In this screenshot, I adjusted the display range to be 181-2098 but the pixel value range is still 181-65535.

Hi, has anyone found a way to extend brightness/contrast settings set for markers on one image in Qupath to all the other images in the same project? We have 20+ slides with 30+markers and any advice on automatically applying the display modifications to all the images would be greatly appreciated!

The simplest option would be to check the Keep Settings button in the brightness and contrast settings dialog box. Then, any new image you go to with the same channels as the current image will have the same display settings. Alternately, you can create a script - there are several posts on the forum related to scripting channel settings, this is just the first one that I found when I searched: Brightness & Contrast Settings Issue - #9 by Mark_Zaidi

On my Series X the game is too bright even with brightness at 0. This means that there is too much fake light in the game and day races look flat while night races are too bright. There is also too much light on the car, making it look like a toy or something.

After first race in practical performance and built for sport game crashed after winning at the second performance upgrade chance. I had the first exhaust installed along with oil cooler and tried togo to exhaust upgrade 2 and the game crashes

After I upgraded my notebook to ubuntu 12.04, I found that I can not save my power settings. Every time I set the screen brightness to 70%, it restored to 100% next time. I can't find a save button on the new power setting panel(I am sorry for I can not post a screenshot right now). Can anyone tell me how to save this setting? Thanks.

If i install whole KDE(1st option ), everything works fine, but with 3rd, Many were missing like network and other. Somehow i managed to sort everything except above two. In settings, there is no option to control brightness. Any idea which package should i install from the whole Plasma Package for brightness and hotkey.

You need to install the powerdevil package.
In terminal just do:
sudo pacman -S powerdevil
Just restart and you should be good to go. (This will enable and start the Power Management service on startup)
You can adjust the brightess when clicking on the Battery Icon or through your Laptop hotkeys.
Further Brightness adjustment settings are in System Settings > Hardware > Power Management

Screen brightness might be tricky to control. On some machines physical hardware switches are missing and software solutions may not work well. However, it is generally possible to find a functional method for a given hardware

Works great, except this also locks brightness settings for no particular reason. Brightness settings need to be user-configurable, especially for our laptops, but the power plan still needs to be centrally managed and locked down.

That should work, otherwise can you just enforce the desired settings via Administrative Templates > System > Power Management? This will lock in any settings you specify through the policy, the users will be able to change plans, but all plans will have your policy settings locked in them.I have found this method to be more reliable than GPP Power Plan settings.

I could, but that only works for the default power plans. Dell adds their own custom power plans that generate a unique GUID for every install, so I cant manage them and I cant get rid of them. A user could work around the GPO by setting it to the Dell plan and changing settings.

I change the selection from "Brighter" to "Darker" and nothing happens... I work night shifts and the lighting is really low so a bright TV gives me headaches... Anything I can do to fix this without resetting the whole TV?

We value your inquiry and interest in learning more about your Roku Streambar, and we will do what we can to bring you the information you need. Usually, the TV's brightness setting is what can improve your streaming experience. Since Roku Streambar does not have that feature, please use your TV's brightness settings to adjust it. Also, kindly check out this support article on why your Roku voice remote is not controlling the power button of your TV. Please follow the steps below to set up your remote:

Love the V3 Starlight vision and I find the auto-brightness adjust of all these V2/V3 cams to work fairly well, but think it would be REALLY useful to also be able to customize the overall brightness somewhat for different installation environments. I realize the view can only go so bright, but I would actually like to reduce the overall brightness on 2 of my cams (in my case outdoor views where sunny areas are just too bright, in addition to some more than needed brightness at night).

Basically suggesting an overall offset adjust (thru the app) to customize the brightness level a few ticks up or down from the automatic defaults. Perhaps a separate 2nd offset adjust for whenever Night Vision Mode kicks in, might also be handy.

I have two identical images, by that I mean they are of the same subject. However one is brighter, with more contrast and saturation. I want to take this image and impose it over the other image and have photoshop calculate all of the curve differences so I can make a LUT. How do I do this?

If the changes you mentioned were made using Adjustment Layers then, with both I,mages open, click and drag an Adjustment Layer from one image over the other image. A copy of the Adjustment Layer will be added to that image. Drag each one in the same sequence as it appears in the original image.

These were just two examples. The real images come from a video game (skyrim). I take one image in skyrim with a neutral LUT and I make adjustments in the game with an injector program called Reshade and then I PRINT SCREEN the image.

You'll need to analyze the two images and then make necessary adjustments. For example, read the tonal values in specific areas on both images. This should help you understand brightness and contrast, and then from there adjustment layers can be utilized for the results. Ask yourself questions such as brightness, contrast, and saturation. You'll see that there are adjustment layers specific to these areas.

Judging from your question I assume you are new to Photoshop. In that case I suggest you first go to Preferences > Workspace > and uncheck "Open Documents as Tabs." Next, Open the image to be corrected. Now both images will appear in the Application Frame. Go to the Layers panel of the image to be corrected, and click and drag the layer over the other image. The layer and image will appear above the Background image. You can now close the image that you had dragged the layer from and you have one image open -- the Background image and, on a layer above it, the layer to be corrected.

Evok, I admire your desire to become adept at working with Photoshop but it is apparent that this project is too advanced for you at this time. I suggest that you look at some books and/or videos and learn the basics relating to Panels and Channels, Layers, Menu items and Tools. You must learn to walk before you can dance. The learning curve is steep but stick with it. Good luck.
