combining or mixing down two tracks into one

I've got SONAR HS version 6, and I'm trying to do something which
seems like it should be simple... but I cant figure it out.

I've got two tracks that I want to combine, or mix down, into one.
If I select them both and use "bounce to tracks" it bounces them down
to two additional, separate tracks.

the only way I've been able to do it, is select both tracks, export to
wav, and then create a new track, and import the wav.

that seems awkward, is there anyway to do it internally without
export?

I don't have HS 6 but don't you have an some type of option on how your
tracks are bounced?
In Sonar the choices are in the "Channel Format" box.

"channel format" doesnt sound familiar, but, I will poke around and
see if there is a preference for bouncing. If there is, I am sure I
have left it at default, which is probably separate tracks.

thanks for the tip

Are you sure you're not choosing "bounce to clip" rather than "bounce
to track"? I (still) use Sonar 5, but when I select the tracks I want
to bounce, then choose "bounce to track..." from the Edit menu, I get a
whole bunch of options, like this:

thats EXACTLY what I get, but, altho it only shows one track as the
destination, I get two when i bounce.

cant figure it out.

maybe theres something to specify to bounce all to one track, under
the pulldown menu in the "new track" field... I never looked... is
there?

Do you have "New Track" chosen as the Destination? Maybe you have
"Split Mono" as the Channel Format - that would create two tracks. You
would probably want Stereo or Mono.

I've used most versions of HS, and there's always been a bounce-to-track(s)
dialog selection that's called "single track" or something like it in the
"Format" drop-down box.
