I have about 8 tracks of single note accoustic guitar in a peice that
is mostly electronic. Whe the mic (AKG C2000) picks up the room sound
it gives the open air type sound when I go to this section.

Isn't there a command that will erase between note sound on a clip?
Whats it called?
My help menu isn't working and I on't have time to fix it so I woul
really appreciate some help.

thanks

Not sure what command you're thinking of. I've used a gate to completely
silence the track inbetween sounds (mostly speech, occasionally
instruments). Perhaps there's a better way, but that one works for me.
Sonar comes with some, and there are free plugins that do this too.

I could use a gate and then bounce it to a track but I thought there
was a command like audio normalize? I'd have to get teh attack of teh
gate pretty fast to catch the begginning of teh guitar pick sound.
With so many tracks it might not sound natural. If I have to I'll
just add a synth pad to mask the air sound. Or add a pad during the
other sections of the piece to get the whole thing even between
sections of the tune.

A bit tedious depending on the track, you could try fade in/fade out on each
distinct passage, leaving the 'open room ' sound in place during the
passage.

Too many notes. What would be cool would be a gate VST that you set
by using the clip as a graphical interface. I could get my settings
by using fadins and outs and use that in teh gate. I have guitar rig
2 and that might have a better gate then teh standard VST's out there.

The Remove Silence command (Process-Audio-Remove Silence) will do
destructive gating.

Another good technique is to clone track and print the new one with gate .
Remove clips where the gate sounds bad and replace with the original. This
is rare, I can usually find a gate setting that'll work for a high
percentage of my track and do what Sue suggested (fade in/out) for the few
clips that need special attention.

Yepper. I also constantly make safety tracks and also LOADS of
separate numbered/lettered saves. Once I discover something like that
I can get back the pre-destroyed track/s.

This had been my habit since pre-windows sequencing. ;)
