New way to define additional paths in bootstrap.php?

Hi all,

Up to changeset 6000 you could define additional paths in app/config/
bootstrap.php with something like:
$modelPaths = array('path_to_models');

But since changeset 6001 I experience "maximum execution time
exceeded" errors using this approach. Is there a new way to define
such additional paths, or is it simply another bug introduced with
changeset 6001?

It seems it was a bug, at least with changeset 6030 it is working
again.
