As I emailed John a couple of weeks ago, I'm not presently
knowledgeable enough about any aspect of CakePHP 1.2 to trust myself
to write about it, but I'm very disposed to provide feedback as I
learn. My goal is learn about certain topics well enough to either
write about them or at least provide better feedback on them.
As it happens, I'll probably be learning a lot about 1.2 Ajax support
for my day job anyway. I see that Bruno Laderval has taken on some
of that in the message below, but I'm happy to pitch in wherever I
can.
Also I can provide general copyediting or "dumb n00b" feedback for any
part of the manual. I actually think I'm pretty good at the n00b
stuff -- I can put myself in the mindset of a beginner, even when
unlike here I actually am a beginner -- but I guess y'all will be the
judge of that. In any event, just let me know where I can help.
Thanks,
Philip

I think they should probably be just one section: one that covers
the
helper. I'll mark you down for the AjaxHelper section, Bruno.
Plan on getting back to me late next week.

Oops, I should say, unlike here I actually am NOT a beginner. In
other words, I'm a beginning CakePHPist, but even if I weren't I think
I'd be relatively effective at looking at things from a beginner's
POV.
Thanks,
Philip

Best way to get started is to jump in with an assignment from the
list at cakeforge:
http://cakeforge.org/plugins/wiki/index.php?id=53&type=g
I'd pick something you can move from the old manual (maybe a 1.1
helper/component that's in 1.2) if you feel new.
