Hey,
I wanted to ask about the *secret* app that is built for the docs -
is it just for displaying the docs or will it be usefull for people
that write the docs ?

If no - what do you guys think about using the wiki on cakeforge a
little more ? :) ie for creating the content. I had some experience
with wikis for such things ( internal work etc) and i absolutely love
it.
It may be necessery to limit the write (or maybe even read) access to
it only to members.

greets,

Both. It it meant to manage both translations and contributions. Its
not really a secret either. I've talked about it on the cakephp
Google group before.

I think I'm going to advise against that for now. I think I'd like
more control over the content at this early stage. Allowing too many
people free access to the content made the 1.1 manual really bad in
places.

Any takers on assignments? I've only had one brave soul step up...

auth component - atleast for me it is a biggie to document.

I am still waiting some feedback on the auth component tickets which we filed a couple of days ago.

Lot of stuff has been already been written - but some of the tickets are true as per our understanding the things will change.

I guess I will pick up another topic to cover in the meanwhile

Cheers

I've still got you down for the Auth Component. Want to send me what you have an amend it later on?

Let me know if you decide on something else to work on.

Thanks,

John

Nate suggests that  I document something else for now - so keep me listed for Auth component, I will do it when the code is ready to be documented.

Let me know if you decide on something else to work on.

You got any suggestions?

Next on my list is Bake: I'm not exactly sure how to document it because its.... rather self documenting.

I just want to make sure people understand what it can do (especially baking out scaffold-style apps).

Wanna try that?

Sure - guess a tutorial style here would  be  more apt than a manual style but I will let you decide that....

So Bake it is for me
