I'm sure there will continue to be datasources in 3.0.  I don't know what the API will look like yet though, as we haven't really started on the model/datasource API changes for 3.0 just yet.

Hi

I was wondering what is likely to happen with cakephp/datasources in CakePHP 3.0?

The datasources project hasn't received a lot of love with CakePHP 2.0, although that's mostly a community issue (yes, I'm pointing the finger at me).

I had intention of doing a bit more work with the SoapSource at some point, but I got as far as I needed to with the project I was working on, realized that the quality of the changes I had made were not up to scratch (unit tests and code standards), and left it for another day.

I'd like to resume that work, but I'd also like to be sure that it's also going to be relevant for CakePHP 3.0, especially with the major changes tabled for models.

I know, I'm sure it will continue to exist as well.  But upgrading it will take some work once the design of datasources is settled upon.

Did you consider making 2.0 master? I think devs are not fully aware
that this repo exists :(

Thats not a bad idea. I wouldn't mind running through some testing (Unit Testing and manual testing) to make sure they all work at a basic level first.
