Under independent writing tasks, an individual has to write about his or her view on a particular question. The writings must contain reasons behind such opinions along with examples to support the statement. One will be allotted 30 minutes to complete this task. Individuals should remember to produce an essay length of at least 300 words to achieve a high score. However, they must try to keep it between 350 to 400 words.
Individuals must structure it into five paragraphs to impress checkers through their independent writing task. It includes an introduction, three body paragraphs and a conclusion. However, as candidates may have to write about six different types of prompts, it is impossible to maintain a single template.
In integrated writing tasks, candidates will first have to read a paragraph and listen to a lecture. The main task here is to summarise whatever one listens to in the lecture and how it relates to the information given in the paragraph.
Ideally, a good scoring integrated TOEFL writing section template contains four paragraphs, one introduction paragraph and three body paragraphs. Here there is no need to incorporate a conclusion. However, if one wants to write it anyway, it should not exceed the two to three sentences limit.

You have probably heard by now that one way to succeed on the TOEFL Writing Section is to use templates. There are many templates out there for the Integrated Writing Task, but did you know there is also one for the Independent Writing Task?
The very last task you have on the TOEFL exam is the TOEFL Independent Writing. For this task, you will be given a question relating to topic which asks for your opinion. Using a template on the TOEFL exam will save you valuable time and keep you from losing track of yourself in your answer. While there is no way to predict what kind of opinion question you will get, there is a template you can follow no matter the question type.
I got my scores and they are terrible. R:30 L:29 S:20 W:20. I may not be the best but, I feel my speaking and writing deserved more. Could it be possible that they are giving low marks for candidates who are using templates? As I used the same template for speaking and writing from toefl resources. Since, there is no diagnostics like in gre, it's hard determine where I lost my marks.
My score is 30/30/22/23 (It was 30/30/22/26 but I submitted score review and it turns out, they made -3 to my writing...)Anyway, I can't understand why my speaking and writing is so low.I used templates. When I took toefl test 7 years ago, I didn't use any template and I got 25 in writing.I recall that those writing skill is NOT on par with my writing skill NOW.And I can tell the quality difference between 7-year-ago-25-score-my-answer and now-23-score-my-answer.

When my parents book TOEFL, I got only 3 day to prepare. Most of my time, I practiced only reading and listening, don't have any time on other two section. Because of that my point is 73(19 22 19 13) look at my writing point. And I have 3 month to increase my point to 100. The analysis shows the tendency to get higher scores with appropriate and effective writing structure of the writing section of TOFL iBT. Actually, most practice textbooks briefly provide only the templates that enable the test takers to memorize the form of the construction of the writing and some simple ways of use of conjunctions which is for logically structured writings. The study proves some defects of introduction and explanation part of the writing section of TOEFL iBT; especially, the explanation of ways of conducting text flow, such as effective use of adverbs and conjunctions and word choices, and so on.
