I believe I have now added everyone to the email list. You can respond

Hello Cake Eatin' Sluggers!

I was able to attend the coaches meeting tonight, and I have a
considerable update. Equipment - I have hats and shirts for everyone.
I will bring them to practice. Please read this email carefully, I
know its long. Your Action Items:

- Review the Game Schedule and Put on Your Calendar
- Get Payment Ready if You Haven't Paid
- Put Practice Times on Your Calendar
- Give Me Feedback on Proposed Practice Time
- [Some Players] Give me position feedback.

Games and Schedule:
The schedule was posted this evening - you can access it at this link:
http://myas.org/gm/season_schedule_print.asp?SportID=3&ProgramID=18&SeasonID=233&SeasonDivID=2623&TeamID=44531

You can also go to the myas.org website, navigate to Fall Baseball,
U13 Rec, and we are Section 2. If the schedule doesn't display, try a
different browser (it wouldn't display for me in Chrome). I will send
the schedule in a separate email for convenience, but check the
website. Good news is that three of our weekends are played in Eden
Prairie, one in Minnetonka, and only one far away in Rogers. There are
links to maps and the schedule includes game time.

First game - Sept. 9th, 2pm, Minnetonka. Plan to be at the field 30
minutes before the first game of any given Sunday for warm-ups - 1:30
for our first game. Note that October 14th is an optional make-up date
for missed games/bad weather.

Similar to what we did this summer - I will need to know if your son
can't make a given game, to ensure we have enough players.

Payment:
Noah and Mitchell have paid me the $85 registration. Borja, Jack,
John, and 1-2 other boys registered individually, everyone else can
bring me a check for $85 to the first practice or game. Make the
checks payable to me - Peter Pascale.

Practice:
Encourage your sons to start practicing their throwing with friends
and/or you. I spoke to a few coaches on other teams, and they have
gotten in a practice or two. We are shooting for TWO practices before
the first game, and one Practice a week. I am coordinating coaches
schedules and will finalize, but plan for the following. All practice
at Cornelia Elementary/Park Baseball Fields unless otherwise noted.

Practice 1: 6:30 PM, Weds. September 5th or Thursday September 6th
(Still coordinating coaching)
Practice 2: 11 AM, Saturday, September 8th

I am proposing a standing saturday practice at 11 AM at Cornelia. We
may try to work in an optional batting cage time in the season to mix
it up. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF 11AM SATURDAYS DOES NOT WORK AS A
PRACTICE TIME. I realize you son may not be able to make all
practices, but I want to pick a time that allows them to attend most.

Positions:
I will try to accommodate interest, and it is our intent to rotate
players through positions. That said, if you didn't play on my/Luca's
house team this summer, I need to know a little about your preferences
and skills. Did you pitch? Do you like to catch? What positions did
you mostly play in the summer? I need answers to this for Noah,
Mitchell, Jack, Zach, Brandon and Max.

Rule Changes:
Difference from Summer:
- No pitch count rules, instead, a Pitcher can pitch a maximum of 6
innings on a sunday.
- A player may lead off and steal at any time.
- Games are up to 7 innings, but only 2 hours in duration.
- Max runs in an inning is 7, INCLUDING YOUR LAST AT BAT EVEN IF YOU ARE BEHIND.

Parents who expressed a willingness to help out, look forward to a
separate email.

Thanks!

Peter Pascale

Zach likes to play in order of preference:

1.  Catcher
2. Pitcher
3.  Infield

In terms of when Barry can help, I will let him get back to you on specific days that work the best, but I can tell you that he will not be around on Sept. 5 or 6.  Also, he won't be able to help the weekend of Sept.22/23.

Thanks!

Kelly

Brandon likes to play, in order of preference: catcher, pitcher and 1st.  As his previous coach, I can tell you 3rd is also a good spot for him, he hasn't pitched much, and spent most of the summer catching.
Practice times look good for us.  Also, if you can't find a good time for everyone to go to the batting cages, I have the Louisville Blue Flame pitching machine. (Catapult)  Speeds get up to 45 and are pretty accurate.  If you need this for a practice, just let me know beforehand.
