The fiber-optic Verizon FIOS network serves millions of homes in the mid-Atlantic and New England. As data is transmitted at the speed of light using fiber optics, it offers a reliable, fast internet connection and a lot of bandwidth for many devices.

The 1202 error code usually indicates that the coax cable is faulty. Cable television companies have placed coaxial wiring in practically every community, connecting virtually every home and apartment.

Hello everyone, this is my last stop before making the phone call (which i just dread doing) to customer service. One day, the box in my room randomly cut off while i was watching a show and when it turned on again, I see the message "Welcome to Verizon FiOS TV. The set up process for your media client is about to begin....then there's a loading bar that always stops at 25% and it says 'We were unable to connect your Media Client". When I press 'A' for more information it takes me to a page that says Step 2: Software Download and its testing 2A MRL info and server identifier

I've googled it and no one seems to have experienced my exact issue. In the forums, its the same. I tried troubleshooting but there doesn't seem to be an option for it either, so I followed the fixes for an unresponsive box and a slow interactive media guide (essentially unplugging/turning it off for 10 secs). Neither worked.

I followed the directions all the way til I got to 50% mark and wouldnt go any further with an 8305 error code (key registration not successful). I also received a coax error code (6203). I disconnected thecoax from the back of the box (it was on tight) which pulled the box off the network. When I reattached the coax cable, the box finished the set-up and it went to live tv.

Wow!!! Great tip. Work just as described! I spent 3 hours on the phone with Verizon yesterday and at the end of the call they wanted to send out a repair tech. That meant time out of work for a problem which I knew was programing issue.

However, I just had a power outage, and now I am stuck back with the same error and cold boot no longer works. Any idea what it is about the network that causes this error? Or is it more likely some process on the box that is screwed?

I have a "non-standard" network setup (not using the fios router as my main router, but it is there as my MoCa bridge and to respond to verizon messages). I had assumed this was the issue, but even when I put everything back to a plain vanilla install (ONT -> Router -> Media Server), I get the same error.

The display is one of the most important aspects of a mobile device. This is even more true for tablets than smartphones, with tablets essentially being giant displays that you hold and interact with. Given that Dell has not had a massive presence in the mobile space in recent years, I had no idea what to expect from the display on the Venue 8. It's an 8.4" 2560x1600 AMOLED display, and with its thin bezels it shares the same Infinity Display branding as Dell's XPS 13. The display on the QHD+ XPS 13 has very good calibration, and so one would hope that this would apply to the Venue 8 as well.

Our first test is the maximum brightness of the device. As you can see, at 100% average picture level it's not looking good, with the Venue 8 having the absolute lowest brightness of any device we've tested in recent years. Indeed, when using the device in any environment with unforgiving lighting it could be difficult to see the display. What's also unfortunate is that the Venue 8 doesn't have any sort of brightness boost when auto brightness is enabled like on the Galaxy Note 4 and Moto X 2014.

One new chart that I'm introducing for AMOLED devices is a graph of the device's brightness at a given average picture level (APL), which is the percentage of the display that is lit compared to a 100% white display. Because AMOLED displays are able to turn pixels off, they are able to drive a higher brightness with a lower APL while staying within their target power usage. As you can see, the brightness of the Venue 8 will go as high as 430 nits when only 10% of the display is lit. Based on our previous testing, it can be said the APL for your average web page or app is somewhere around 80%, and so the brightness of the Venue 8 can be closer to 250 nits in normal use. Even so, 250 nits is quite dim when compared to other phones and tablets we've tested, and it's unfortunate to see all the recent AMOLED devices not made by Samsung hovering around that number.

The greyscale results on the Venue 8 are certainly not the worst of all the devices that we've tested, but with an average DeltaE of nearly five the errors are clearly visible for most shades of grey. When looking at the RGB balance for each shade we see that there's a fairly consistent lack of blue in the luminance which causes a noticable red shift in the device's whites and a resulting white point of 6203K.

In our saturation test, the Venue 8 performs exceptionally poorly, and comes in with the highest DeltaE of any device that we've tested in recent times. There's a large amount of saturation compression, with certain primary colors like green outputting what should be 100% saturated green with an input of only 60% saturation. In fact, some of the shades of red and green are more saturated than any color I have ever seen on a display before. While this could be a good thing on future devices with color management and Rec. 2020 content, at the moment it simply makes content designed for the sRGB gamut look wildly inaccurate.

With the large errors in greyscale and saturations, there's not much hope for accurate reproduction of color mixtures. With the color checker test we see an average error that is once again larger than any other device recently tested. What's even more frustrating is that the largest errors are in mixtures of green and red, which includes skin tones. Obvious errors in skin colors are visible in photos and when watching both animated and live action video on the Venue 8. While it's definitely not unusable, I would recommend pretty much any other device if looking at photos and watching videos is something a user wants to use a tablet for more than occasionally.

It's unfortunate that such a high end device is hampered by a relatively poor display. Every recent AMOLED device that isn't produced by Samsung has suffered from the same lack of calibration and low brightness, and on every single one of them it has a very negative impact on the user experience. In addition, the Venue 8 suffers from the color banding in darker shades of grey and green that exists on some AMOLED displays, and the PenTile subpixel pattern can be visible on the edges of smaller text even at a normal viewing distance. AMOLED displays have many benefits, but if manufacturers are unable to source calibrated panels of the same quality as those in Samsung's phones and tablets then they should seriously consider opting for a good IPS LCD display instead.

I have recently purchased Verizon quantum box along with two additional set-top boxes. I installed the main Quantum box as well as the second one easily, but while installing the 3rd one in the basement, it shows the Verizon error code 6202. Here is how the set-top box looks like

It's possible that I forgot to untick the little whirlpool Auto symbols box (on the right of screen) before I posted the commands. This would result in the hyphens in the commands being converted from ASCII to some fancier-looking unicode equivalent.

I'm finding mine usually doesn't take long either. The 30 minute episode involved my having the router running for maybe 15 minutes with no modem plugged in. On that occasion, it took a further 33 minutes or so to update the date-time.

It is, amiright? XD
BTW, can you answer me on openwrt forum on Flash Zyxel Thread?
Im tryng to make up a Guide, on going to openwrt, and back to stock as cleanest as possible, and Definitive Guide on Installation Process, i just miss some steps.
Your help would be nice.

A built in feature of mwan3 is a (blank by default) script it runs right after an up or down. I just did some filtering and added a 300 second wait on the down, and set it up to email the output through my mail server if it was still down after that time. It's really handy. The only really important key is that you need an internal mail relay, because a weird quirk of mwan3 is that it doesn't work for the router's own traffic, so if the router's default route goes down, it couldn't email me. I fixed that by bouncing it through an internal relay that sends it back out.

I was too lazy to type it all and just copied and pasted, now it works. Still will not sync, but I think the problem is linked to Wireguard and the race condition or something I read on OpenWRT forum.. there was a script code that I entered:

Definitely will look into that, but the above script sets the local time date to 1/1/2030 until the modem connects and then syncs to the NTP time, whether its linked top wireguards race conditions or not I do not know. Prior to the script I did disable Wireguard VPN start on boot, and rebooted. Modem /router would connect but no internet to lan or WiFi passthrough.. so the script above did fix it, I guess.

I have tp link mr 3420v2 router, I have set automatic reboot to it for 2am. The problem is the reboot process never success, it always gets stuck. Then I have to manually restart my router everytime. What can be the cause, can anybody help me.

Does anything work in that usb port? You can test with a mouse, keyboard, or a flash memory stick. They will of course not be supported in ROOter but they should at least show up in Device Information and thereby confirming that the usb port is functional.

I found a very small work around but it's not a fix. When the router boots up and doesn't connect to the modem, unplug the modem and plug it back in. It will connect then. It's strange but that has worked for me.
