Ureaplasma is a bacterium that can be passed through sexual contact although it is not considered a classic STI or STD because of its low degree of pathogenicity. The two species are Parvum and Urealyticum.

While in the bladder, urine is normally sterile and free from any organisms. Urinary tract infections are common in females and children than in adult males.

For counts between 10,000 and 100,000, the culture is indeterminate.
