Updated July 10, 2023, by Rebecca Timberlake: Trying to save your borrowed funds while turning a decent profit in Farming Simulator 22 is easier said than done, but if you find yourself exhausting the obvious money-making schemes (or unable to execute them depending on your farm), there are a few more ways that can help stretch your dollar through the season.

You might be able to acquire a farm with crops already growing on the land. If you can do this, you'll start with a shorter timetable on crops, which in turn allows you to gain a complete profit at the very start of your farming adventure.

If you have purchased equipment and find you don't need it anymore, you can always sell it. Although selling your used tractors and machinery won't get you back what you spent, it will free up space on your farm for something you do need while getting you at least a fraction of your cash back.

To avoid employees signing off on major purchases, change their settings to limit their AI. This is an important step even if you aren't just starting out or low on funds because they continue to work and incur expenses even without you in-game.

While it's a no-brainer that a farm needs animals as much as it needs crops, not all animals are created equal. Since you can start up your own manufacturing in Farming Simulator 22 and effectively cut out the middle man, having animals around that you can use for your fabric and textile business is a must.

Collecting wool from the sheep is just as lucrative as cotton in the clothing world, especially if you get it up and running before winter hits. There are a few ways to keep the sheep on your farm, but if you have it in the budget to build them a barn, they'll breed - producing more sources of wool in the long run for less upfront fees.

Probably the most important crop you can grow on your farm, cotton should be in your top ten list of priorities when setting out. Cotton is extremely valuable as it becomes clothing, fabric, and other types of textiles.

In Farming Simulator 22 you can control your own supply chain, effectively cutting out any middlemen and maximizing your personal profit. This is helpful with all areas of your farm, but the best use is with your cotton crops, as you can process it yourself to sell, and there will always be a demand for clothing.

Overall, there are 16 crops to choose from, but three food crops are especially profitable - potatoes, canola, and soybeans. Potatoes require the least effort, but if you plan to grow primarily grains, canola is the best of the three.

There are beef cows and dairy cows, giving you two avenues for profit, as well as selling them off and using their manure like the pigs. All animals will breed once you have two of a kind that can mate, so the expense is really a one-time thing for each species.

This page of the guide will detail how to make money quickly within Farming Simulator 22. This includes what avenues are best to take early on to help maximize your profits, as well as what you'll need to ensure your finances keep improving year on year.

There are many ways to earn money in Farming Simulator 22, as you would expect, but there are a few methods that will expedite your profits, particularly as you are getting started. They differ in effort level required, but each is equally legitimate depending on the type of player you are.

Bees are the easiest animal to get up and running in the game and come with the benefit of requiring no care or maintenance after setting them up on your farm. To get bees, like the other animals, you'll first need to house them. To do this, you'll want to head to the 'Construction' tab of the shop menu.

As you can see from the image above, the most expensive beehive build in the game is only $19,000. Along with the necessary palette space for the honey that they'll produce, you can have a maximized output for just $19,200. When placing your bees, you'll want to make sure you position it near as many of your crops as possible, as the bees will help increase your yields thanks to the pollination that they provide! You'll see the expensive hive, the palette space, and its positioning near some crops in the image below.

With that setup, the last thing you'll need is a forklift to transport the pallets of honey to a sale point. You'll find the available forklifts in their own designated tab in the 'Vehicles' section of the shop menu. One is available for $37,000 and the other for $55,000 - both still within your starting budget. Either will suffice, so it's up to you how much you wish to spend. You'll see the two choices in the menu below.

Contracts are jobs assigned by AI characters that you can accept at your discretion. You can find these in the 'Contracts' tab of the pause menu. There will be a list of available contracts, each with details as to the location of the job, the money on offer, and the actual requirements to earn the money.

You'll note in the image above that each contract will helpfully display all of the required equipment necessary to complete the job before you accept it. If you already own the equipment, no problem! But particularly early on, you'll want to opt for the leasing equipment option, even with the reduced reward as a result. The option to borrow the items is helpfully in the bottom left of the UI, so hit that and the machinery will be delivered to the nearest store. Being expedient with the contract will negate any penalties you would get from leasing for a long time, and completing multiple contracts over time will allow you to purchase the equipment outright.

The better-paying contracts often require more (and often more complex) work, which is to be expected, so take that into account as you pick and choose which contracts best suit you and your current position in the game. With a contract accepted, you can track your progress in its completion using the same screen, with a progress bar visible in the image below.

This, to some, will be considered cheating and negating the true experience intended for players. But for those impatient amongst you or those that can't commit to multiple long play sessions to get your farm up and running, the Government Subsidy mod will be your best friend. Available from the offset, head to the Gameplay section of the Downloadable Content tab on the main menu. Install it and it will become an additional option to enable every time you load up a save, new or existing. This mod provides two financial options: A Municipal Subsidy for $100,000 a year, and a Government Subsidy for $100,000,000 a year.

There are NO consequences for taking this offer, so choose whichever is best for you. If the Government Subsidy seems excessive, take the Municipal for a smaller bump to your account. Once loaded into a save, enter the 'Construction' tab of the shop menu, head to 'Production' and then 'Generators' and you'll find the Subsidy signs there. Place one (or as many as you'd like) down on your land and you'll receive an hourly amount straight to your account. Get spending!

Farming Simulator 17 allows console and PC gamers to manage all activities of a farm. Running a farm costs money, though. This guide tells you how to endlessly generate money with no extra effort, so you can concentrate on the tasks you want and buy all the best equipment without ever going broke.

Note that this strategy involves leaving your Xbox One or other console of choice on for several hours at a time while you build up your fortune. You'll want to use a wired controller (such as the Hori Pad Pro) or plug a wireless one into the console to prevent the controller from powering off and interrupting the game. Don't worry, the effort (and electricity) will pay off!

This method works with either a new save or an existing one, and it can be done on any difficulty. We'll start from scratch on Easy difficulty on the Goldcrest Valley map and go from there. You can turn DLC vehicles on or off, but having them off to start with is better.

Our goal is to produce structures that create money on their own and then let the game idle over time while the money comes pouring in. The big impediment to doing that in Farming Simulator 17 is that some vehicles and equipment have upkeep costs. We'll have to ditch that stuff.

With our nest egg secured, it's time to invest in a couple of solar collectors , also known as solar panels. These generate 110 money per hour with no supervision and minimal maintenance costs. That's down from 380 per hour in Farming Simulator 15, but it still works for our purposes.

At 120x, every 30 seconds of real-time equate to one in-game hour. One minute equals two game hours. With daily maintenance costs factored in, each solar collector generates 298 money per minute at this speed. With two of them, you're raking in 596 per minute and 35,760 per hour of real time.

Our eventual goal is to buy eight solar collectors before graduating to more expensive equipment. You just need to leave the game running and amassing money until you accumulate enough money for each subsequent solar collector. You can work on Achievements while you wait, or just leave the game running while doing something else entirely. Be sure to let the game run while you sleep. And very importantly, remember to save periodically!

Our next goal is to buy a wind energy generator, also known as a windmill. These cost 1,200,000 money and generate 1500 per hour, down from 4,000 per hour in Farming Simulator 15. With daily maintenance costs factored in, a wind energy collector produces 2996 per minute and 179,760 per hour of real-time. Add in the solar panels and you're making 322,800 every real-time hour.

With eight solar panels, it will take 8 hours and 24 minutes to save up 1,200,000 money for your first wind energy converter. Given the long wait, it's a good idea to let the game run overnight at this point. During this time, you should earn the ' In for the Long Haul' and ' Peak Profits' Achievements.
