I found the software but not the driver.. and updated the driver in device manager but when I load up the software it says its still the generic windows driver and I need to download the correct one. I cannot for the life of me find it. -article/how-to-download-logitech-webcam-drivers/

it says "You are using generic Windows (UVC) drivers, providing reduced functionality and support for your product. To get the best experience out of your camera, please install logitech drivers. Also, when I go to logitech.com/support. I find the firmware upgrade software but then it tells me the webcam is incompatible. My guess is that's for keyboards and mice and headphones or whatever. Thanks.. if any of yall have that same webcam and can remember where you got the driver for it.. and if it's even still up hosted on their website or not! thanks.

Logitech drivers were developed before UVC drivers were optimized for webcams. Today, standard UVC drivers are perfectly suitable for controlling the settings of multi-camera streaming while maintaining a stable environment. Video quality remains uncompromised.

The Logitech C920 webcam works with Logitech Webcam Software (LWS), which was specifically designed to work with Logitech drivers. As a result, using the Logitech C920 with a standard UVC driver prevents the LWS from working correctly. As an alternative, we recommend the following applications:

I just got the Logitech c920 webcam for Christmas. I'm a little disappointed to read the different forum posts regarding the c920 and Ubuntu pairing. Ideally , I'd like to use this webcam on Google Hangouts, and I'd like to take advantage of the full 1080p HD capabilities.

When I bought my first 2 C920 I had to install specific logitech drivers in order to have a real 30 frames per sec, which wasn't a problem last year : with the "lws280.exe" from logitech (old logitech capture software) I could install drivers from 22/10/2012 and obtain a fluid signal. It still works with both webcams I've bought last year, but when I connect my new C920 :

- for an unknown reason I can't install these 2012 drivers : the logitech 2012 installer tells me that an "incompatible webcam is detected"... I can't find why (I've been trying an other C920 that I bought last month : same problem, I resent it thinking the webcam had a problem but with this new trial it seems the webcam isn't the problem).

The only solution I found is to install the last version of the logitech "capture" software, in which I can visualize a fluid 720p image. It generates a "logi capture" virtual input that I see in Isadora. But as soon as I click on "start live capture", Isa crashes... I've just been sending a isa crash report that occured when I clicked on "start live capture"...

- But if I close "logitech capture" software and choose directly "HD Pro webcam C920" as an input in 1280x720px I experience the same problems I described earlier : no fluid image, looks like the framerate is 12fps, while the soft indicates 30fps. If I put it in 640x480px the image becomes fluid (same in Isa when I choose directly "HD pro webcam C920" as input).

Looks like the driver of the webcam is not directly usable by the softs : it needs the "logitech capture" software as a bridge to fully understand it... rough because the "logitech capture" soft doesn't allow to fully control the exposure manually.

Since the "logitech capture" soft doesn't solve the problem, I did some tests trying to get a fluid image with the driver of the camera directly (and not the virtual input created by the "logitech capture" soft). I did a new try on vvvv (sorry it's not to compare both softwares, it's just to see if they react the same), and in the "video in" node in vvvv there is an option that solves the problem : "reference clock". When I change it from "default" to "system" or "none" the image suddenly becomes fluid... If I could repeat this on isadora all my problems would be solved, but I don't find any equivalent option in Isadora, and I don't really understand what that "clock reference" means.

THE Logitech C920 webcam may not work on your PC because of outworn, missing, or faulty drivers. Therefore, update drivers to resolve the issues. You can update the Logitech C920 drivers both manually and automatically.

Please keep in mind that the Logitech c920 and Brio are Zoom certified devices that will work with Zoom. We recommend that you update your Zoom client as well as your external camera device, such as your c920, to see if that resolves your issue.

I have read that two PS3 Eye cameras can be hardware-synchronized to take pictures at the same time, but you need some special drivers to use them and I would need to pay for them because the free version supports just 1 PS3Eye,Is that correct?

Drivers
On Windows 7 there are two capable drivers giving slightly different options.
The Microsoft driver that installs itself by default, and the Logitech driver that must be installed manually.

Both drivers lie to some degree with the list of framerates they support. For example when using MJPG output, the drivers report that they support 7 framerates, from 5 to 30 fps, but whatever we choose, it will always use 30 fps.
