What could be more exciting than playing firemen? The new exciting feature in the BRUDER fire brigade range is the MACK granite fire engine with ladder. As well as many small details such as opening doors, mirrors that fold back, opening bonnet and lots of chrome parts, the vehicle has an integrated water tank that can be easily filled. The water hose can be wound up, held by BRUDER figures (e. g. art. no. 60000 ? not supplied), or se-cured to the basket. It also has a fully functioning nozzle. The turntable ladder with rescue basket can be moved out by a handwheel and adjusted in height. The cab has two seats and there is another seat for a BRUDER figure on the ladder. Four extendible support legs ensure vehicle stability in any situation and a large storage compartment with a door which folds up means there is extra space for storing tools. The many functions and details allow limitless creative games.

The decision was made due to continued hot and dry weather pattern, drought conditions with dry forest fuels, escalating fire danger across the area, large fire activity, strained fire suppression resource availability, and frequent human-caused wildfires, according to a news release.

Today is the 10th anniversary of one of the deadliest days in the history of wildland firefighting. Nineteen members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, a firefighting team, died in 2013 battling the Yarnell Hill Fire in Arizona. One crew member survived, and it's been a hard decade for him. Ryan Heinsius of our member station KNAU in Flagstaff reports from where the tragedy unfolded.

RYAN HEINSIUS, BYLINE: This is steep country for sure. It's hard to imagine firefighting here. All along the trail, there are things that people have left here, little mementos or just decorations. And here's a little - it's almost like a mobile with little plastic hummingbirds clinking together in the breeze.

HEINSIUS: In the dark days following the Yarnell Hill Fire, Prescott Fire Captain Dan Bauman was assigned as the official liaison for McDonough, often talking on the phone late into the night. I catch up with him at a nearby firehouse.

HEINSIUS: Both Bauman and McDonough agree that prioritizing mental health is paramount in the firefighting world, especially in the wake of unspeakable tragedies like the loss of the Granite Mountain Hotshots. McDonough says it's helped him get to a much better place.

According to Hord, the police department is trying to gather any nearby video footage to find out what happened. Hord said there were no problems with putting the fire out and is eager to see the gazebo repaired and useable once again.

Please note: Not suitable for use with wood fires. Use of any other material or components not supplied by Stone Forest voids the warranty. Outdoor use only. Requires a remote to operate (included with the purchase of the electronic kit).

The arrest report described surveillance video of the bus involved in the incident, which apparently shows Ford committing arson. However, while WVCPD didn't describe the incriminating video, the affidavit did detail a separate, more recent incident in which the bus driver reportedly started a fire on a Granite bus he was driving.

"At (1:54 p.m.), on 04/07/2023 the suspect had an object in his hands which was later identified as a thumb-strike lighter," according to the affidavit. "When traffic stops, the suspect looks down and starts lighting the electrical components under the dashboard on fire using the thumb-strike lighter."

The reporting officer stated Ford had allegedly been linked to four fires on Granite School District buses , all of which involved the vehicles' electrical systems, and all of which were being driven by Ford at the time.

Ford was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of one count of aggravated arson, one count of criminal mischief, and 66 counts of aggravated child abuse, one for each student he was transporting when he allegedly started the fire in 2022.

Burn bans may be issued by the County Fire Marshal for fire safety reasons, by the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency to protect air quality, and by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources to help reduce the risk of wildfires.

The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (PSCAA) issues air quality burn bans in response to poor air quality. Air quality burn bans are usually issued during colder fall and winter months due to calm wind conditions. They can be issued outside of the Snohomish County fire safety burn bans. For more information please see the PSCAA burn ban page.

The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) uses burn restrictions as a tool to reduce human-caused wildfires during extremely hot and dry weather conditions. When a burn restriction is in place, it prohibits outdoor fires on all state, county, city, and private land under DNR fire protection, including all state forests, DNR-managed forestlands and DNR campgrounds. For more information on DNR burn bans, see the DNR wildfire prevention website for more information. On this website, you can track daily burn restrictions in each Washington county.

Prior to any burning, we suggest you contact our Burning Information Line at 425-388-3508 to verify that there are no Burn Bans or Burning Limitations that may have been placed due to high fire danger or air quality conditions. For additional air quality information you can contact Puget Sound Clean Air Agency.

Since 2008, the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency has maintained a permanent ban on land clearing burning in land-clearing burning Snohomish, Kitsap, King, and Pierce counties in accordance with WAC 173-425-040(5). Land clearing burning applied to fires to clear land for development, such as building a new structure or subdivision.

Recreational fires, no larger than 3 feet by 3 feet by 2 feet in size, do not require a permit. By definition recreational fires are cooking fires, and campfires using charcoal or firewood that occur in designated areas or on private property for cooking, pleasure, or ceremonial purposes. Fires used for debris disposal purposes are not considered recreational fires.

Burn Permits are required and issued by the Office of the Snohomish County Fire Marshal and participating local fire districts for residential burning. Permits will be issued for locations outside the Urban Growth Areas (UGA) that are outside of the established no-burn zones (PDF) and within fire protection districts of unincorporated Snohomish County.

The following fire districts have entered into an inter-local agreement with Snohomish County to issue permits on behalf of the county and will regulate burning and burn permits within their districts:

If you live within the jurisdictional boundaries of one of these districts, it will be necessary to contact them directly to obtain a burn permit. If you would like to locate or verify the boundaries of a particular fire district you can:

As more people move to remote areas wildfires (PDF) have become increasingly common as that creates an environment where fire can move readily between structures and vegetation. Emergency response can be difficult in these isolated and undeveloped areas. There is no guarantee that firefighters will be able to save your home if a wildfire occurs so it is imperative that property owners in the Wildland/Urban Interface (WUI) understand the risks and prepare appropriately. For more information contact your local fire department.

A city block and a part of Granite City, Illinois history were destroyed in the massive fire today. The fire consumed several buildings, including a warehouse more than a century old, used now for tire products.

Smoke filled the skies over St. Louis all morning as the massive warehouse raged. The original fire occurred at 9:40 p.m. Sunday night, in the warehouse district along Niedringhaus Road. The fire at the Vandalia Warehouse, was confined to a section of the office building, and was put out with the help of sprinklers. Fire crews returned to the scene Monday morning around 4:40 when the fire re-kindled.

Last Stand FailsIt appears that the firewall, created through efforts of the Granite City Fire Department and mutual aid teams called in, has failed. The firewall represented fire crews' last stand to save the Michelin Retread building which contains thousands of tires.

Fire Rapidly Spread Fire officials say efforts to contain the fire were hampered early due to the wood material inside the warehouse. Crews began setting up a defensive firewall between the warehouse and the adjacent Michelin Retread warehouse in an effort to prevent the tire warehouse from catching fire.

Fire Is OverwhelmingMeanwhile, firefighters battling the massive warehouse fire say they're overwhelmed. They say lack of manpower and water have prevented crews from succeeding in putting this fire out.
