To Dalhousie Information Program Alumni and LIS Professionals,
We are hoping to relaunch the Dalhousie Information Science Mentorship Program for the coming 2026/2027 academic year. This program will enable meaningful and supportive connections between current Master of Information (MI) students and professionals from the library and information science field. We believe that MI students would greatly benefit from engaging with mentors who can share their experience and wisdom while they navigate their graduate degrees and subsequent transitions to professional careers.
At this time, we are looking for those who would be interested in volunteering as a mentor. Mentor responsibilities would include regular check-ins with your mentee(s), either online or in person, and an optional monthly drop-in group event where all participants can mingle, share stories, and get to know one another.
Please let us know if you have any questions or need more information. If you are interested in being a mentor, please email Morgan Carter (m.ca...@dal.ca) by August 31st for next steps.
Sincerely,
DIS Mentorship Program coordinators
