Since 1976 the Canadian Journal of Information and Library Science has been a foremost bilingual resource of information and library science research. CJILS is internationally recognized and published three times a year.
CJILS is formally announcing its shift to a diamond open access model. Under this new format there is no charge to read, download, or otherwise use the content within the CJILS. Papers are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) that allows non-commercial use with no derivatives with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship. Papers submitted to CJILS are subject to a double-blind reviewing process and there are no author processing fees.
CJILS is soliciting articles for publication. We are looking for theory and research findings that focus on information science, libraries or adjacent topics. Previous publications have included research on information behaviour, information retrieval, professional issues, information organization, scholarly communication, information policy, research methods, and educational issues, but authors should feel free to submit the breadth of library and information science research. Submissions in French or English are invited.

Passage au libre accès et appel à articles
La Revue canadienne des sciences de l’information et de la bibliothéconomie est depuis 1976 une ressource bilingue de premier plan dans la diffusion de la recherche en sciences de l’information et en bibliothéconomie. Publiée trois fois par an, la RCSIB jouit d’une réputation internationale.
La RCSIB annonce officiellement qu’elle devient une revue en accès libre (voie dorée) : la lecture, le téléchargement et l’utilisation la revue se feront sans frais. Les articles seront publiés sous licence Creative Commons Attribution — Pas d’utilisation commerciale — Pas de modification 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND) qui permet une utilisation non commerciale sans dérivés et assure une reconnaissance de la paternité de l’œuvre. Les articles proposés au comité éditorial de la RCSIB seront soumis à un processus d’évaluation par les pairs en double aveugle. Aucuns frais de traitement ne seront demandés aux auteurs et autrices.
La RCSIB sollicite des articles pour fins de publication. Le comité éditorial invite les chercheurs et chercheuses à soumettre des articles présentant des théories et des résultats de recherche sur les sciences de l’information, les bibliothèques ou bien des sujets connexes. Les articles des numéros précédents ont porté sur le comportement informationnel, la recherche d’information, les questions professionnelles, l’organisation de l’information, la communication savante, les politiques informationnelles, les méthodes de recherche et les questions éducatives, mais les auteurs et autrices peuvent aussi proposer tout article en lien avec la bibliothéconomie et les sciences de l’information. Les propositions peuvent se faire tant en français qu’en anglais.
Les articles soumis au comité éditorial devront suivre les éléments listés dans les instructions aux auteurs de la revue.
