hi,
it seems that cairoplot fits quite well my needs and seems to be
promising, however getting it seems to be a royal pain.

I had to install bzr, try (with no luck for https) to get it through
my proxy, reinstall it on a machine not behind a proxy just to see
that ubuntu hardy version of bzr is too out of date to check the
software out.

It is difficult for me to add a new 'backport' repository and install
bzr 0.92 and understand hhow it works just to get a simple set of
files !

Is there a way to get a tarball of the code for version 1.1 ?

thanks

ikshefem

2009/3/17, ikshefem <xavier...@gmail.com>:

I couldn't find a tarball export option at the launchpad interface,
but you can browse the source and get individual files there:

http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~alf-rodrigo/cairoplot/trunk/files/head%3A/trunk/

But the bzr version in hardy should work fine for checking out the
source. I know that because I'm using it.

With bzr you can create a tarball like this:

bzr export cairoplot.tar.gz lp:cairoplot

That's exactly as Paul said.
Later today I can create a tarball and email it to you.

I'd also recommend using the trunk version instead of the 1.1 as it has lots of new features.

Yup, that's what I did, but it really gets in your way.

ok fine, then, when you do a release (v 1.1) , just put it on a page,
a wiki, whatever ! It makes ppl so much easier !
if you only want to provide revision system based pages, please stay
with something not too exotic like svn.

that's kind of you but I will dl it from the pages directly as it's
basically one file if I understand .

I look forward to use that lib.
(in fact it's not hardy, it might be gutsy. anyway)

thanks for your answers

While I had (relatively) little trouble getting the code via bzr, I
agree with ikshefem that there should be a tar file downloadable from
the launchpad page for CairoPlot. In fact, there is a page for
downloads (https://launchpad.net/cairoplot/+download), but there is
nothing listed. This should ideally have tars of each release (or at
least the latest stable release)
