The ALPs (Alpine Laboratory of Phonetics and Phonology) at the Language Study Unit of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (Italy) offers a full-time post-doctoral position for a maximum of two years. Post-doctoral fellows conduct experimental phonetics and sociophonetics research in close collaboration with researchers at the Language Study Unit. Duties include articulatory (ultrasound tongue imaging) data collection and analysis, publishing in the peer-reviewed literature, participating in seminars and conferences, and collaborating on research grant applications. Successful applicants have a doctoral degree in phonetics, linguistics, cognitive sciences or a related field. Candidates must also have a background in experimental research in speech sciences, knowledge of the phonetics and phonology of German and/or Italian, and a record of individual initiative in research. Preference will be given to applicants whose research interests best align with those of researchers at the ALPs. Potential applicants are encouraged to view the ALPs and unibz web sites.
