When you download an app, it should work as promised. Which is why human App Reviewers ensure that the apps on the App Store adhere to our strict app review standards. Our App Store Review Guidelines require apps to be safe, provide a good user experience, comply with our privacy rules, secure devices from malware and threats, and use approved business models.
1. Switch wirelss network and verify/configure network settings to make sure that your iPhone is connected properly to network so that iOS device will not get stuck while downloading or installing apps;
I am having the same issue with my daughters new iPhone X. She Upgraded from the 6s to the X and her profile and pictured transferred to the new device, but her apps are stuck and will not load. AppStore will not work for updates either. Seems to be a problem with AppStore?
Here is what I found. After waiting all night for the apps to download, I started going through and tapping on the ones with spinning circles. For SOME, as soon as I tapped it, it said OPEN in the grey oval. About 50 of my apps we all of a sudden visible, ready to go. But after another day and a half, no more have appeared and the method I used does not work .
I was having the same issue. None of my apps were finished downloading and my phone would not lock. None of my apps would open nor would my control center come up. I spent the day speaking to different apple representatives and none of us could figure out what to do. After many different attempts, I knew from the start that all I had to do was to get it to turn off but it wouldn't force restart nor go into safe mode or anything. I even tried connecting it to my MacBook Air to restore it again or update it and it wouldn't work. Until, well I'm not sure if all iPhone's do this but if you click the lock button three times, AssistiveTouch comes up. If you click on it then click device>more>restart, it should turn off then turn back on and from there it took me to the start up screen and I just had to set up my iPhone again. So my assumption is that maybe the restore process just never finished, I really don't know but hey it works now!
Do a force restart. For the iphone x, do this right after the other in this order 1. press the volume up button 2. press the volume down button 3. press and HOLD the power button until the apple appears on the screen
After 48 hours of frustration, the answer to this problem for me was somewhat obvious. I was upgrading from a 6S to an X, but when I tried to restore my backup, most of the apps were "stuck" in a state of loading. What i needed to do was to go back to my 6S, upgrade that phone to the latest iOS version, and THEN update all of my apps. Many of the apps need to be updated to the latest iOS, which is the version that was by-default loaded on the new X, and created an issue when trying to sync. SO NET, before you save a backup, refresh all of your apps to work on the iOS version that will be on the new phone.
So basically what Apple has done is taken it the apps to transfer on iTunes on your computer and making you recover them from icloud. So if you will be working with them tell them to put the tab back so people can recover them off of their computer instead of the galactically slow iCloud! This has got to be the worst move ever!
I also am unable to open any apps on iPhone 12 did you find a solution. I click on various apps enter my passcode and it hangs and returns back to enter passcode. I have tried switching off and resetting. Did you find a solution?
Here's what gets transferred: contacts, message history, camera photos and videos, photo albums, files and folders, accessibility settings, display settings, web bookmarks, mail accounts, WhatsApp messages and media, and calendars. If they're available on both Google Play and the App Store, some of your free apps will also transfer. After the transfer completes, you can download any free apps that were matched from the App Store.
With Content & Privacy Restrictions in Screen Time, you can block or limit specific apps and features on your child's device. You can also restrict the settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch for explicit content, purchases and downloads, and privacy.
With iOS 16 or later, while you're setting up Screen Time for a child's device, you can set age-related restrictions for content in apps, books, TV shows, and movies. Just follow the onscreen instructions during setup.
You can restrict the use of built-in apps or features. If you turn off an app or feature, the app or feature won't be deleted, it's just temporarily hidden from your Home Screen. For example, if you turn off Mail, the Mail app won't appear on your Home Screen until you turn it back on.
iOS and iPadOS can automatically filter website content to limit access to adult content in Safari and other apps on your device. You can also add specific websites to an approved or blocked list, or you can limit access to only approved websites. Follow these steps:
The privacy settings on your device give you control over which apps have access to information stored on your device or the hardware features. For example, you can allow a social-networking app to request access to use the camera, which allows you to take and upload pictures.
Results: Apps identified for smoking cessation were found to have low levels of adherence to key guidelines in the index. Few, if any, apps recommended or linked the user to proven treatments such as pharmacotherapy, counseling, and/or a quitline.
Conclusions: iPhone apps for smoking cessation rarely adhere to established guidelines for smoking cessation. It is recommended that current apps be revised and future apps be developed around evidence-based practices for smoking cessation.
When you download and open a new app, you'll get a pop-up notification that asks if you want to let the app track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. You'll also see information about what the app would track. You can tap Ask App Not to Track to block that activity or Allow.
You can also opt out of app tracking across every app you download by going to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and toggling off Allow Apps to Request to Track. This means any app that tries to ask for your permission will be automatically blocked from asking and informed that you have requested not to be tracked. All apps (other than those you've given permission to track in the past) will be blocked from accessing your device's information used for advertising, according to Apple.
To do that, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. You should see a list of apps that have requested to track you. Tap the toggle next to the apps you want to stop tracking you.
Even so, it's important to bear in mind that when you ask apps not to track you, what you're saying is that you don't want app developers to have access to your unique identifier that Apple creates specifically for advertisers -- your IDFA. Denying access to your iPhone's IDFA doesn't necessarily mean app developers won't track you through other means, so it's critical to be mindful of the apps you use and how you interact with them.
If your iPhone starts glitching, the first step you should take is to restart your phone. In some instances, the apps on your phone may be the reason for glitches. If all fails, one should think about taking the iPhone to the nearest Apple istoreor to replace the phone altogether.
Many types of Iphones glitches may come as a result of running high-powered apps, way above the running capacity of the phone's GPU and on some occasions, a decrease in your battery will also lead to glitches. If you face the same problem again, you can visit any of the nearest iStores or contact any 3rd party websites for screen replacement. Some of the popular sites include maxbhi, amazon, xfurbish.com and so on...
@ Marc-Oliverno, it only tells you the location of the phone you are using, its a joke, a prank, it does not tell you where another phone is or where someone else is (unless they happen to be right next to you), you can find these apps on the app store, they are prank apps
Kevin Rose even pimps these apps (which he so wisely invests in) saying if your out on a Friday night looking for your friends, you can use gowalla to find them. Yeah, or you could actually call them to see where they are. These apps are especially great for the great majority of us that are married with children and are usually out cruising around on Friday nights looking for our friends at bars.
In a conversation with an Apple Engineer he said that apps should be written to use no more than about 25-30Mb! Up to 60Mb may be available but cannot be counted on (but you could use this extra for caching stuff that you can purge as necessary).
1) I believe that you shouldn't ask for maximum size, as you have to aim for minimum possible size for your apps. As iPhone has limited memory (both storage & RAM), you should not create a huge app. (I doubt an app > 200MB can pass through Apple's app check.)
While you might be interested in a ego vanity iPhone app like the Brad Feld iPhone app, you are probably a lot more interested in an iPhone app for your business. NewsGator has become an expert at building these and has developed a superb framework for branded iPhone apps.
And, while Apple does a lot of curating to help you find apps, such as ones that have been suggested by in-house editors, it can still be tough figuring out which apps are right for you and which should be skipped, let alone getting through all the options constantly being uploaded to the store.
