Cahill and 70 th Redevelopmnet Council Meeting Report

Dear All,

Greetings from snowy Edina,

 

The following attended the meeting on  Feb 21^st:

 

·       Ellen and John Clifford, Susan and Tom Kampmeyer, Marion and Larry Motl

·       Representative from City Hall reported on the feedback from the online discussion “Speak –Up Edina. Org”

Ø  42 participants in discussion with 82 comments.

Ø  40% in favor of extensive remodeling .Newer fresher and more appealing versions of the same. Update area. Maintain the shops and services

Ø  60% in favor of redevelopment  - Demolish large portion of the area. Replace with condominiums, subsidized housing  underground parking. Maybe a few shops under the condominiums

 

There was no discussion from the floor.  Total time 5 minutes.

FWIW, I would favor redevelopment , but no high rise or heavy new numbers of people...........no subsidized housing............the reaffic is bad enough now, and this says much more confusion...........we will have to get high speed bike rails to get everyone to Southdale................take out the bike trails and make the streets safer/////////////////won't be back till mid May, so will miss the next mtg...................thanks for the note!
