I think we need to do an official release soon, what do you guys think?

I'm completely out of touch with the codebase. What are the differences
between 2.0 and trunk?

I'm pretty out-of-touch as well, but I have no objections.

We never actually had an official 2.0 release, and since we pushed 2.0 packages to the main PPA I think it would be confusing to try to have one.
As for what the differences are, I have fixed some bugs and implemented some blueprints, more info: https://edge.launchpad.net/caffeine/+milestone/2.2

By all means, go ahead and make a proper release. One question though;
when I looked through trunk the other day, I saw that a directory for
the Faenza icon theme had been created, and inside it were the icons for
ubuntu-mono-dark. What was up with that? We're not going to bundle the
Faenza icons with Caffeine, are we? Is it because there are no proper
tray icons available for Faenza, and so it would inherit from hicolor if
we didn't put the ubuntu-mono-dark icons in there?

Actually the Faenza directory has the ubuntu-mono-light icons (it's confusing, I know). I don't think we need to include icons for Faenza, that was there because I used to have the old style cup-empty/full icons in hicolor. So Faenza inheriting from hicolor is fine now. But Faenza-Dark needs to use the ubuntu-mono-dark (ubuntu-mono-light has the icons that go well with light panels) icons, so I'll leave that directory in there.

Actually, I discovered that the Faenza icon set had the caffeine-cup-* icons, but they were in the status directory instead of the apps directory (that makes more sense actually). So now the only icons I am including are hicolor and ubuntu-mono-dark.

BTW, could you guys test out Caffeine on distros without application indicators? It should now use gtk.StatusIcon when AppIndicators are not available. Also please test out Caffeine without the icon enabled (there is an option in the preferences dialog now).

I just tried it out on Arch. At first it didn't work, because Arch uses
python 3, but after creating a launcher that launches Caffeine with
python 2, it worked just fine!

Can you help me with the PKGBUILD for the 2.0, the I have is pointed
to the 1.0 branch. Didn't notice any branch for 2.0/2.2.
