installing Caffe-SSD alongside Caffe (already installed) on TX1

Has anyone installed Caffe-SSD alongside Caffe (already installed on my TX1) or are they just installing the SSD branch/version?

Is there a best approach for app development?

I just installed Caffe SSD in a separate (caffe-ssd) directory and toggle my $CAFFE_ROOT env variable between $HOME/caffe and $HOME/caffe-ssd and the same with the $PYTHONPATH as necessary. Works...
