ImportError: /usr/lib/libgdal.so.1: undefined symbol: sqlite3_column_table_name

So I gather my Anaconda IPython and the gdal used in Caffe were built against different sqlite3 versions 

inside ipython:

import sqlite3

sqlite3.sqlite_version

'3.8.4.1'

I got the latest Caffe of off github and built with CMake.

I read online about a workaround here http://gis.stackexchange.com/a/72657/13591 although when I place in the raise ImportError script it just causes ipython to fail to start up.

I'm not experienced enough in the toolchain to find out what I need to do to remedy this.

I should say, this is when I try to import caffe using the pycaffe bindings, inside an Anaconda IPython running on python 3.
