How to run a code using caffe with 2GB GPU?

Hello all, I have a source code about semantic segmentation which requires at least 4GB to run. However, my computer only has 2 GB and core i7. I tried to reduce batch size to 1. But it is still not enough memory. Is possible using Ubuntu command to limit the memory usage? For example, just set maximum is 1GB. I know it may take long time than using 4GB.
